I don’t see any logical reason for patting down the genitalia other than deliberate humiliation by the security services to show us who’s boss and to see how far we’ll go in believing their fairy-tale view of reality. The obsession with security in this country is, for me, the most noxious part of our society. The average dullard will believe almost anything and mostly think all this BS is for their own safety but that has almost nothing to do with it.
