Just to take another example of godawful rigidity from exactly the same stupid competition at Lausanne, look at Delia Matthews’ neck in this video! It’s like some lunatic jabbed her with Botox before she went on!
Neither of those hoofers would have been good enough for the corps de ballet with Balanchine or the Bolshoi in its glory days. Both of them should have dropped out of RBS before they were crippled by idiotic “training” and danced a few seasons or at least taken classes with Suzanne Farrell’s company, where they might have turned into dancers, instead of brittle marionettes.
