The Bush/Obama Education Agenda for 2012!

Obama praises Jeb Bush on education reform

In his first year as Florida governor, Jeb Bush was vilified by Democrats as a “radical” for an education agenda they argued would undermine public schools. So it was a striking moment when, 12 years later, a Democratic president came here Friday to hail the Republican as a “champion of education reform.”

And just what kind of reform does Jeb Bush have in mind?

Jeb Bush: Class size limits unnecessary

Florida voters recently passed a constitutional amendment capping class sizes. Bush is now actively working to undo that requirement.

“If a Martian came down and analyzed test scores and compared them to how much money is spent per student – a Martian research analyst – they’d have to go back and say it appears to me the closer tie is an inverse relationship – that the more you spend, the lower the outcome,” Bush said.

So it obviously follows that the less you spend on schools, the better!

And that’s the Bush/Obama Education Agenda for 2012!

  1. So if the budget for education is reduced to zero we will be filled with a nation of young Einsteins! Woohoo!

    Intelligence is inversely proportional to political office achieved….

    on a stage with Jeb Bush on educational issues – read privatization –

    A few things here:  Teachers’ unions are a force – oooh conservatives don’t want that.

    Secondly – THERE’S MONEY IN EDUCATION.  Why shouldn’t the markets seize the opportunity.  It will be another present to the banking/Wall Street class.

    If there is no shared identification with education and the government, the community – another cog in the wheel to destroy whatever is left of an American Liberal movement is in place.

    This is a slap in the face to us.  The bush family used to have an interest in a company that published books, etc. for charter schools –  the primary interest here is money and control.

    Am I reaching if I put out there that the “shareholders” could bring in teachers from other countries to teach –

    He’s not staying out of the Wisconsin fight because he’s being all presidential – he’s knifing them in the back –

    has been selling his program Ignite in Texas school districts.

    From the LA Times:

    Neil Bush’s COW: The Milking and Bilking of Education Funds

    Few independent studies have been done to assess the effectiveness of Ignite’s teaching strategies.  Neil Bush said the company had gotten “great feedback” from educators and planned to conduct a “major scientifically valid study” to assess the COW’s (Curriculums on Wheels) impact.  The results should be in by next summer, he said.

    Though Ignite’s products get generally rave reviews from Texas educators, the opinion is not universal.

    The Tornillo, Texas, Independent School District no longer uses the programs it purchased several years ago for $43,000.

    I wouldn’t advise anyone else to use it, said Supt. Paul Vranish.  Nobody wanted to use it, and the principal who bought it is no longer here.

    Ignite’s webside features glowing testimonials from teachers, administrators and parents.

    In one video, a student named India says:  “I was feeling bad about my grades.  I didn’t know what my teacher was talking about.”

    Lori, a woman identified as Lori’s teacher, says the child was not paying attention until COW was brought in.

    The woman however, is not India’s teacher, but a former teacher and now Ignite’s marketing director.  These COWs were purchased with district funds.

                     **********

    This is about taking tax dollars and funneling them to private investors.

    Neil has no background in education – and Melanie Sloan, the executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) revealed that in a 3 month study schools are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, including NCLB, on Neil’s COWs.

    She further said:

    It is astonishing that taxpayer dollars are being spent on unproven educational products to the financial benefit of the (then) president’s brother.

    It’s the same ole – same ole.  Socialization of private interests.

    and Obama is standing on stage with a bush while teachers and others are fighting for their lives in Wisconsin.

    All you have to do is google Neil Bush shareholders in Ignite and you’ll get an eyeful.  And now with Citizens United – another group enters the picture.

  2. President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton attended the Bilderberg Meeting, of 2008, and most probably, the one of June, 2010 (although attendees and request their names not be added to the list of those attending, so . . . )!

    Here is a snippet from Google:

    Bilderberg 2010: What we have learned | World news | guardian.co.uk

    Jun 14, 2010 … Just after Bilderberg, Obama warns of massive layoffs of teachers, …. Bilderberg 2010: How political and business leaders are going to …

    Note that the Agenda for this meeting was cached!  Here’s a partial list of attendees of the June 2010 meeting, merely to give you an idea of the sort of people that attend these secretive meetings.  There is a Daniel Estulin, an author, who has made tremendous efforts to uncover information about this group.

    ~~~~~~~
    I have mentioned the above, because by accident, as I was searching some information about Obama’s and Hillary’s attendance at, most definitely the meeting of 2008, I found the snippet shown.
    Please note that by that mention, I am not saying there is or is not a CT within the Group, only that it does, indeed, exist, and judging by the types of individuals that attend, there also is the distinct possibility that these people do aspire to shape world policies.
    this morning they had a really sharp interview of Katrina Vanden Heuval and Richard Cohen re Libya especially but touching on all of the Middle East uprisings.  A segment about Khaddafi’s “hidden” millions and the art of freezing assets.  A charming segment of Moscow’s chimney sweepers.  And a look at how the reporters themselves are driving the narrative in Libya.  I wish they would amplify this portion and give us a larger picture.
    Now on Morning Joe – I didn’t tune in this AM but my guess is that Mika looked lovely and Joe and his gang of moderate (but serious, very serious) out-of-touch with the American working class, well-paid DC insiders were talking about the game of politics and laughing a lot.
    .
  3. bargaining. From what I understand, teachers will now be on  year to year contracts. And our culture is now in free fall. Teachers must now watch their P’s and Q’s while the billionaires, politicians and News Stations can lie through their teeth.
    Oh they’re so clever. Reagan’s dream is coming true. He despised teachers, and now his protege is cleverly overseeing the political/corporate conquest of what had been a proud, independent, free thinking and free speaking profession. Woe to this arthritic democracy as it is taken to its knees.
    This is all about reengineering society. Not even three years into Obama’s term. It’s happening fast. Will they be able to build enough jails?
