Excellent weather today and we took advantage and put the Apocalyptic horses through their paces on really good trails. Our most trusted farrier has returned from life threatening injuries in Afghanistan. He did their feet yesterday amidst a flurry of family activity in our new woodland hideout. Fishing and kayak rides for the kids and then chicken wings, steak tips on the grill topped off with the evening campfire.

Ok, so for three full years in a row now disaster has befallen my family in the month of July. We used to enjoy the idyllic perfect days of summer in a woodland hideaway in the woods of Maine.
