When You’ve Lost Jon Stewart, You’ve Lost Middle America

While covering the Christians United for Israel conference this week, I heard a couple of gripes about Jon Stewart’s reports on Israel’s operation in Gaza.

“Most Hamas rockets are neutralized by Israel’s Iron Dome technology,” said Stewart. “The Israeli forces warn Gaza residents of an imminent bombing with a smaller warning bombing.”

Supporters of Israel were watching a Jewish comedian who happens to have a direct line to millennials, and he was fully embracing the worst possible narrative. “His piece on Gaza, I thought, was morally outrageous,” David Brog, executive director of Christians United for Israel, told me Monday.

Ah, yes.  That would be Christians who need a Jewish state in the historic area of Israel as cannon fodder in a literally, and I do know the difference, apocalyptic war on the field of Aramageddon (an actual real place, not metaphorical at all) beginning with the Rapture and the throwing down of The Golden Censer, and proceeding inexorably to The 7 Trumpets, The 3 Woes, The 7 Plagues, and finally The 7 Bowls of God’s Wrath and the establishment of Jesus’ Kingdom.

Getting away from the inherent sanity of those who hold these beliefs (on which I will not pass judgement), I just want to say I’ve always wanted to ally with a group that roots for me to be powerful and successful so I can be utterly defeated and crushed like a bug and they can take over.  Yup, friends like that are highly reliable and always have your best interests are heart would never, ever betray you to advance their own agenda.

Ever.

Elon Musk made his Billions on Pay Pal and is now pissing them away on vanity projects like Space X (expensive, ego stroking “adventures” for people with more money than brains) and Tesla Motors (which may turn out to be worthwhile for it’s battery technology, everything else is highly derivative).
