The Breakfast Club (Tuba Skinny)

Welcome to The Breakfast Club! We’re a disorganized group of rebel lefties who hang out and chat if and when we’re not too hungover  we’ve been bailed out we’re not too exhausted from last night’s (CENSORED) the caffeine kicks in. Join us every weekday morning at 9am (ET) and weekend morning at 10:30am (ET) to talk about current news and our boring lives and to make fun of LaEscapee! If we are ever running late, it’s PhilJD’s fault.

Illinois man backs SUV through garage door, a longtime wish

WOODSTOCK, Ill.-A suburban Chicago man who says he always wanted to know what it is like to smash through a garage door now knows the feeling.

Ninety-one-year-old Walter Thomas of Woodstock was able to slam an SUV through a garage door with his family’s help.

The garage was slated to be torn down, so Thomas’ action was of no consequence. The SUV was donated. It was then up to Thomas to back it through the garage door and check that activity off his bucket list. …

Bull free after falling into metro Atlanta well, taking nap

FAIRBURN, Ga.-A bull that fell into a metro Atlanta well has been freed after taking a nap during the rescue effort.

Abel Ambrosio Lopez told WSB-TV the bull fell through rotten wood that was covering a well on his property in Fairburn, south of Atlanta.

Lopez says he assumed the 3-year-old, 1,500 pound bull named Boy jumped a fence and took off, and was surprised to find it lying in the well.

Plumber wants to keep working after $136 million jackpot

NEW YORK-A Staten Island plumber who won a $136 million Powerball jackpot said Thursday he wants to keep working – but also plans to “relax a little more.”

Anthony Perosi, 56, left his March 14 ticket pinned to the wall behind a basement pipe for six weeks.

A friend had told him where the winning ticket had been purchased, but she thought a teacher had won. So he took his time checking the numbers, which he’d chosen randomly.

You know if you never check your tickets, you may still be a winner.

Entire Treasury Department Competing For Same Goldman Sachs Job Opening

NEW YORK-Saying the company has received hundreds of résumés since posting the job opening to its website earlier this week, Goldman Sachs human resources manager David Browning reported Thursday that a high-level position with the investment bank had attracted applications from every official in the United States Treasury Department. “Within just minutes of listing the open position on our jobs page, the flood of applications from treasury.gov email addresses started rolling in, and it hasn’t slowed down since,” said Browning, adding that most of the Treasury regulators who applied for the job highlighted their previous experience working closely with Wall Street financial firms and included a letter of recommendation from former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. “All these applicants must realize what tough competition they’re up against, but at the same time, I remember how it was back when I was just another government official who was ready to make the move to the private sector. We’ll definy keep the information of those candidates who don’t get the job on file for future openings.” Browning added that the new hire was needed to take over the responsibilities of a former Goldman Sachs executive who had recently left for a high-ranking position in the Securities and Exchange Commission.
