Republican Debate #11; Now There Are Four

Tonight is the eleventh Republican debate and, as Matt Taibbi noted , we have a sobriety problem. Only four of the original nineteen candidates will take the stage tonight after retired brain surgeon Ben Carson announced Wednesday that he would not participate since after the Tuesday primaries he saw “no path forward.” He hasn’t formally suspended his campaign but it’s expected he may do it at Conservative Political Action Conference scheduled for Friday. So that leaves us with the three battling bigoted bullies and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, who is probably just waiting for the armed duels.

The debate, hosted by Fox News, is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET at the Fox Theater in Detroit and last for two hours. Fox News anchors Megyn Kelly, Bret Baier, and Chris Wallace are slated to moderate the debate.

This is the first face off that Megan Kelly will have with The Drumpf since their encounter in August. None of the moderators plan on mentioning that ugly episode, or Drumpf’s absence from the last Fox sponsored debate and his constant complaints about how unfairly he is treated by the network.

I’m not sure if Matt Taibbi will be posting a new Debate Drinking Game for this round; he may not have sobered up from that last one. In any case, here is the link to Matt’s Blog at Rolling Stone and this is the link to his last drinking game. Remember, don’t drink and drive and drink responsibly.
