2016 Senior League Division Series: Game 3, Cubs @ Giants

This game was notable because it was the first time since 1924 that a Reliever hit a Post Season Home Run. Travis Wood also got the win after Kyle Hendricks left in the 4th with a Line Drive bruise. Also Madison Bumgarner made an appearence as a Pinch Hitter in the 5th and reached on an Error and advanced on another.

Saturday’s Game

Bottom 1st- Leadoff Double. RBI Single. Cubs 1 – 0.

Bottom 2nd- Leadoff Double. Walk. Single, Loaded. 2 RBI Single. Cubs 3 – 0. Sacrifice. RBI Single. Cubs 4 – 0.

Top 3rd- Leadoff Double. RBI Double. Sacrifice. RBI Sacrifice. Cubs 4 – 2.

Bottom 4th- Solo Shot. Cubs 5 – 2 Final.

Cubs lead Series 2 – 0

The Cubs (106 – 58) could close this out tonight, but that’s unlikely. The Giants (88 – 76) are sending Madison Bumgarner (L, 15 – 9, 2.74 ERA) to the Mound and as good as he looks in the Regular Season this is what he did to my Metropolitans in the Wild Card Game- 9 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 6 K.

0.00 ERA

I don’t think the Cubs can beat that, with or without Jake Arrieta (R, 18 – 8, 3.10 ERA) who ain’t so bad.

Things do not look equally good tomorrow for the Giants when the Cubs’ Lackey hits the field.

  91. this is the story of the year for the Giants. there isn’t anyone in the bullpen who can be trusted, ever.

but like Mary Queen of Scots, they’re not dead yet.
