This is a site by adults, for adults so you’ll forgive me if I make clinically explicit what a “golden shower” is. It’s the act of having someone urinate on you for sexual gratification. I don’t pass moral judgement on people for their sexual practices and all I’ll say about mine is that even conventional, procreative sex is plenty icky and I’ve participated in enough to know.
As near as I can figure out (and really, it makes my eyes burn to read this stuff) what Donald Trump stands accused of has nothing to do with sexual gratification at all, unless you find it erotic to desecrate someone’s temporary possessions (a hotel mattress that had probably been replaced about twice and sheets that were laundered daily).
Some people do. I personally think it’s about as sexy as a dog taking a dump or marking a tree. Maybe you feel Donald Trump is one of those people, and I say, “yeah, but…”
There are so many other good reasons to hate him, starting with his cabinet picks ranging from a Klanner Attorney General (Sessions) to a home stealing Bankster for Treasury (Mnuchin) to a Charter School grifting Education Secretary (DeVos). Not to mention (though I will) the fact that he’s in total violation of the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution and technically impeachable the moment he takes the Oath of Office (though technically any Executive Employee is eligible for impeachment for any reason at all, impeachment is a political decision).
I don’t like The Donald and this is not a defense of him. That should go without saying but I’ll remind you.
I am almost as disgusted in this case by the behavior of the Neo Liberal D.C. Establishment including the Legacy Media.
There are good reasons to be concerned. The prospect of a President vulnerable to blackmail by a foreign power should concern every United States citizen. On the other hand should we be more concerned about his sex life than the fact that he owes Billions to Russian Banks?
Sex sells. Indeed it may in this toxic Puritan culture we inhabit (though we don’t seem to have much trouble with banging interns of either gender in Congressional Offices, wide stances in Airport bathrooms, and Dominaxtrix Diapers, all Republican by the way because they go for the kinky sex much more frequently than Democrats). What disturbs me about all of this is the willingness to suspend disbelief based on a single anonymous source.
Anyone remember the Aluminium Tubes? Bueller? The Mobile Anthrax Labs? The Intercontinental prop driven Drones?
Those were signed off on by what laughably passes for an “Intelligence” Community too. A ‘former’ British Intelligence Official has instant credibility, after all he is James Bond not Kim Philby.
Margaret Sullivan at the Washington Post is right at the same time she’s being incredibly hypocritical- (Slate is owned by the WaPo).
With caveats and explanations aplenty, Smith published a 35-page “dossier” – actually just a bunch of scurrilous allegations dressed up as an intelligence report meant to damage Donald Trump.
…
News organizations and government officials have known for months that this information, if it can be called that, existed. But despite many attempts, the claims about Trump’s behavior and relationships in Russia could not be verified. Thus, major newspapers and magazines sat on them. In October, the Washington bureau chief of Mother Jones, David Corn, wrote a story based on the file, but stopped well short of publishing the specifics.
Why? Because he couldn’t verify them.
So, what changed, and blew this out into the public eye? Not just BuzzFeed’s data dump, but a series of events. Intelligence agencies summarized the “dossier” and included it in material given to Trump and President Obama.
CNN published a story Tuesday saying that much. And with the door cracked open, BuzzFeed pushed through.
…
Richard Tofel, president of ProPublica, praised the decision: “Kudos to @buzzfeedben and his team for publishing the dossier. Once CNN story out, citizens should have evidence to consider for themselves.”Journalist Michael Tracey noted that while WikiLeaks had been “relentlessly attacked” for publishing verified, authentic information, BuzzFeed was being “cheered for publishing what appears to be a total sham.”
And in the New York Post, columnist and longtime magazine editor John Podhoretz made a solid point: “In my experience, there is no source of whom you need to be more skeptical, and whose information you need to verify to the letter before you can even begin to think of publishing it, than an ‘intelligence’ source.”
Once BuzzFeed published, of course, the dam burst. Slate followed, publishing the documents itself, and anyone in the world had access with a few keystrokes.
Personally I agree with BuzzFeed’s and Slate’s decision to publish. I try to double source but I have no credibility to trade on. I’m just some anonymous writer. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it were true, just like the WikiLeaks DNC/Podesta emails.
It is also fairly obvious that it’s a deliberate release from U.S. Intelligence intended to damage Donald Trump and I’m all behind that. I have good reasons to hate him and bonus points for damage.
On the other hand it’s also an attempt to manipulate our easily manipulable Legacy Media. C’mon, they shopped it around a bunch of places before they got CNN to bite. The apparent agenda to damage The Donald might not be the only axe they’re grinding, our Military Industrial Complex is a Black Hole of money suck more easily justified by a credible enemy, in this case Russia.
Not that Russia is not our enemy, I would be too if I was sitting where they are. The important things to remember in the new McCarthyism is that it is McCarthyism and that Thermo-Nuclear Weapons are not toys (by the way, Russia has more than we do which makes perfect sense because we have more targets, good luck Kansas, Missouri, and Texas).

Hillary must be fuming. If this story had just come out before the debates, her “Trumped up Trickle down economics” line might have gotten some real laughs.
