I won’t kid you, there are some dangerous teams in this group. Thing is, Lady Huskies have beaten every one of them previously this year with the exception of Mississippi State whom they did not play. The things to worry about are injuries, foul trouble, and slow starts (too many of those this year). The dangerous teams you can identify by going to Connecticut’s results page and looking at the games they won by less than double digits. For the record they are Florida State (2), Maryland (6), and Tulane (3) which didn’t get an invite.
Yup, that’s it.

Much like the men, there are always upsets in the women’s first big rounds. After they were all done there were just 4 which is about average. Last year there were 6.
The biggest surprise was #12 Quinipiac’s defeat of #5 Marquette. It is Quinnipiac’s first time in the tournament.
For the most part, these are not high scoring games but two of the women’s teams really out did themselves. UConn went over the century mark with 116 and Baylor with 119.
