After eight years of the Bush administration being wrong on everything they did, both overseas and at home, it comes down to this…
What is “this” you ask?
“This” is right-wing nut Frank Gaffney stating:
GAFFNEY: May I state my position rather than you stating it? May I do that? My position is that it’s regrettable that any Americans died. It is regrettable that they had to die, but I believe they did have to die.
Over 4000 American soldiers’s had to die? For what? In Gaffney’s words, because Saddam Hussein was a “mortal threat” to America. “This” is what we’ve been reduced to by the GOP over the last eight years by their operatives, their media shills, and their ignorant supporters.
Saddam Hussein had no Air Force or combat ability left after 1991’s Desert Storm and the subsequent 12 years of attacks by American forces on Iraqi targets. Saddam Hussein had no ongoing nuclear program at all — a fact that Bush knew prior to his State of the Union address. The stockpiles of chemical weapons were largely destroyed by U.N. weapons inspectors and the minuscule amounts that weren’t accounted for were of zero threat outside of Iraqi borders. So, in Gaffney’s opinion, over 4000 American soldiers had to die because Saddam Hussein was of such little threat, it scared him, Bush, and all of those manly GOP supporters.
“This” is C. Rice stating:
RICE: Not of American money. Not American money. I don’t think that you will find that anybody is arguing that there was corruption in the American programs.
So, there was absolutely no corruption in Iraq by American contractors? In fact, billions of American dollars have been wasted by abuse, fraud, corruption, and misuse in Iraq. KBR and Halliburton have repeatedly been exposed for billions of dollars of overcharges and delivering shoddy work — work that has directly led to American deaths and sicknesses.
“This” is Dana Perino denying that we have occupied Iraq for the past five and half years:
QUESTION: But he wasn’t a guest. We’re occupiers.
PERINO: No, we’re not. We are absolutely a guest.
The Bush administration invaded Iraq, deposed its leaders by military arms, instituted a provisional government, and then, only under pressure from Iraqi’s to have elections relinquished power, leaving in the dead of night after raping the Iraqi treasury and instituting many mandated principles upon the populace of Iraq. Even after elections were held, Iraqi Prime Minister’s held their position by American influence, and, when that waned, were forced out of their position. Even now, after a “SOFA” (Status of Forces Agreement) has been agreed upon, the administration refuses to abide by it as the U.S. Commander states that American forces will not be out of the cities by the time required under the agreement. That isn’t a “guest” — it’s an occupation with no wish to see it end regardless of Iraq’s wishes.
“This” is the key players in the Bush administration trying to re-write history, to whitewash their own failures. “This” is the right-wing pundits trying to deny statements that have already been historically documented and paint some new picture.
“This” is denial of the first order — by Bush, Cheney, the GOP, its operatives, its shills, its “in the tank” media outlets, and its no-nothing supporters.
I’ll say it again; the GOP is now ruled by ideological crooks who think torture was the way to go after 9/11.
I’ll reiterate; the GOP base is now full of idiots who care only what they are told, whether by FAUX News, Rush Limbaugh, or any other idiot with a platform, whether it be in the media or their church.
And, this cannot be said enough, they will never, ever, admit when they were wrong. No, instead, they will deny the statements that were made, try to reshape the history, or, in the case of the smarter idiots, simply try to claim they never were GOP shills in the first place.
Meanwhile, these armchair warriors who never had to sacrifice themselves or their families have zero clue the toll this war has taken on America.
Yes, over 4000 troops are dead. That means over 4000 families — wives, husbands and children — will never, EVER, see their loved one again.
But, this doesn’t even touch on the tens of thousands of wounded soldiers, some maimed beyond repair. Or the thousands of marriages torn apart by this war. Or the veterans of this war who now find themselves homeless. Or the veterans who have committed suicide because the Veterans Administration didn’t want to “deal” with them.
Yet, “this”, is the GOP and their manly supporters, many of whom have never seen a combat zone, licking their chops at the fact that we went to Iraq and kicked some ass — the consequences be damned. The facts be damned. The lies that led us into that war be damned. The attempt by the Bush administration to re-write its history be damned.
Personally, I am going to start spitting on every GOP addict who dares to spout off their ignorance within distance of me — it’s the only thing they truly do understand — brute force.

you’d think at least one of them would be on the way back by now…
But so far they all just hold their noses.
