The Anchorage Daily News is reporting Sarah Palin to quit as Alaska governor on July 25.
Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell will be inaugurated at the Governor’s Picnic at Pioneer Park in Fairbanks on Saturday, July 25, Palin said.
There was no immediate word as to why she will resign, though speculation has been rampant that the former vice presidential candidate is gearing up for a run at the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.

waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Obama can win in 2012 even if his approval rating drops to 1% before the election. He won’t have to do anything for the next 3 years.
Except maybe give the next two years US GDP to the bankers, too, so they’re covered when everything collapses.
MSNBC actually covered something besides Michael Jackson for a little bit.
I’ve never liked hearing her, but this had an entirely different quality to it. She seemed scared out of her mind.
If she were resigning as a calculated move to run for President, she would have been cooler headed. She’s emanating fear.
Maybe one of those ethics investigations has some teeth….
