Sotomayor accused as financial crook, Dem + Repub Senators alerted, silent

Sotomayor has been accused of “anticipation in a cover-up of concealment of assets as part of a judicially run and tolerated bankruptcy fraud scheme” by Dr. Richard Cordero. His web site is here. His letter to the Judiciary Committee re Sotomayor is here.

    You cite a non-credible sore loser on an obscure right wing CT site to accuse not just Sotomayor but every public official and Senator involved in her confirmation hearings and vetting of a “coverup” in a bankruptcy case ruling that even the Supreme Court found merited.

    Take it to Freeperville. They love this sort of tin foil as well as the losers who sell it.

    Also, don’t bother even suggesting that somebody will turn up something factually wrong with Cordero’s analysis. You wouldn’t want to be overly fact-based, now, would you?

    I have posted about his letter to the Judiciary Committee, re Sotomayor, on 3 different forums/blogs, 2 of them of the left persuasion (openleft.com and docudharma.com). On the lefty sites, there were a couple of comments suggesting that this is rightwing nuttery, like “birther” accusations against Obama. However, my impression is that Cordero is a solid, objective guy.

    As you have interviewed him, would you be willing to vouch for Dr. Cordero’s objectivity?

    The endorsement you’re requesting is not a simple undertaking.  I interviewed Cordero about one aspect of his reform strategies which seems quite legitimate and is one of many things suggesting he is generally a credible person.  However, I have not evaluated his position on Sotomayor and related matters closely enough to provide a blanket endorsement of them or Cordero.  I just have not had enough time to carefully follow Cordero’s advocacy though I know of it and presume it is worthwhile.

    Also, I suspect Cordero is probably more to the right than left of center as am I.  The “rightwing nuttery” attributed to that fact is ridiculous, but perhaps it should be tolerated in the interest of lively debate.  In other words, Cordero’s views and their credibility or lack thereof is a matter that largely speaks for itself.  I hope you’re not too disappointed with this response.
