Saturday Speculation….What Will It Be?

Much has been made in apocalyptic and mystical spheres of the date 12/31/2012. “Stolen” from the Mayan calendar it is said to be a significant date for mankind and this little planet we call earth. The Mayans basically had a press conference and told all the silly white people who had glommed on to the date as the “end of the world” that…well…they were being silly white people. Again. It is a significant date on that calendar, but not an apocalyptic one. As we think of it at least.

But it does have a resonance and it does correspond with a lot of other prophecies and stuff and from what I can tell it has been adopted as a turning point, or at least maybe, a date to shoot for? In any case it is obvious that the earth IS rapidly changing, and that there is an air of anticipation, and that may be why this date has gained credence as some sort of tipping point. From the political viewpoint, for instance it will be between the election and inauguration of our next president.

From the more pragmatic viewpoint as far as the physical well being of the earth, it will be around the time, perhaps, that the effects of Climaticide will really, really be being felt.

At the current, very alarming rate of acceleration, that date is as good as any other to view as a tipping point for the health of the planet and her children. If we haven’t seriously changed our ecological ways before then, we are in deep deep doodoo. And any real change in our ecological ways will mean a corresponding political, social and economic change.

Heh, I just noticed the ad on the sidebar, lol, worth a click….actually, worth a quote! I loooove “coincidence!”

Maitreya is emphatic that for us to survive, sharing, justice and cooperation must be implemented globally for the good of all people and the planet. That the voice of the people — not the politicians or the back room lobbyists — must become the voice of wisdom that guides our decisions. That greed, commercialization and unchecked market forces must be banished from our affairs.

I have been saying basically the same thing for over 30 years now, lol! We have to become a cooperative, rather than competitive, species to survive. The ad is a great example of how this consciousness is spreading. And, in whatever form or iteration, from apocalypse to the dawning of a “New Age” …growing/ ( I SWEAR I didn’t put it there just for purposes of this essay, lol)

So for purposes of today’s speculations….What Will It Take?

How do we get from here to there, when we have such a long way to go and such a short time….3 1/2 years….to get there?

World wide food and water shortages?

Some sort of social, spiritual, or political breakthrough?

An outbreak of war in the Middle East (along the lines of Biblical Prophecy?) or elsewhere?

The invention of a new cheap energy source?

The, hahaha, revelation that Obama really IS the Messiah or the Anti-Christ?

People all over the world joining together over the internet for some planet wide revolution against the Ruling Class? (my personal fav!)

Spontaneous explosion of all the worlds nukes due to some cosmic ray or sumpthin?

A combination of the above?

Or…..nothing and we are doomed due to our own hubris and stupidity?.

I guess the ‘formal’ question to speculate upon would be…

“Will there be some massive change or event that will significantly change the world between now and, say, Jan 20th 2012?”

If so, what is your guess?

Or will we just muddle through….or not….on a “normal” timeline of evolutionary change, albeit the accelerated one we are experiencing now. In other words, no great Event, but a steady drumbeat of Change as was symbolically represented (if not actualized….yet, anyway) by the sudden shift from a Bush Type World to the potential of the Obama type World?

Yeah, yeah, I know…this is inherently not “reality based.” It is at best asking for a prediction given current world events, and at worst fantasy speculation or base mysticism/apocaypticism. But what the hell, what else do you have to do? Let down your hair and let fly!

Or not, and this essay will die a slow and painful death!

Whatever you think, believe, hope for or dread. it is at least fun/interesting to speculate as to where our future is heading!

    Is for the seeds of the worldwide revolution of The People of the planet to bloom….followed shortly after by some sort of energy breakthrough. But it has to come AFTER the ‘revolution, so the oligarchy don’t steal it or weaponize it, lol.

    We don’t need no stoopid oligarchy/plutocracy, dammit!

    I stumbled onto this last night.

     And they said there’s going to come a time when in the morning the sun is going to rise, and this village of stone will be there, and in the evening there would just be steam coming from the ground. They will be as steam. And in the center of many of those villages of stone, when they turn to steam, the Native people will turn to steam also because they never woke up and left the village.

    They say there’s going to be the Third Shaking of the Earth.   7. maybe tomorrow it will be different. I’m sort of tired from doing in one week two months of stuff I had planned for the summer off.

    I don’t see the money people going away. And that’s what needs to go before that space can be filled with some other kind of “change.”

    Going from Bush to Obama is just putting us back on the track we were on before Bush, except about ten towns back from where we were when Bush took office.

    So.

    Dunno.

    I hope my kids will be okay. That’s why I’m not hiding under the bed. lol

  8. …sometimes.  But then again, evolution has sudden leaps which are quick and cover considerable space.

    IMO–things are so dire now that we really need that sudden evolutionary leap.  The ordinary slow creep just won’t hack it.

    I’m hoping for and betting on the leap.
