Man on the Moon.

The picture reminded of a song by R.E.M.

If you believed
they put a man on the moon,
man on the moon.
If you believe
there’s nothing up my sleeve,
then nothing is cool.

About the photo – “Global Gore – Al Gore discusses climate change during a conference Tuesday in Barcelona, Spain. (AP photo by Manu Fernandez / October 23, 2007)”

According to Typically Spanish’s Spain Papers Review “Al Gore, speaking in Palma yesterday, attacked the idealists from the right wing for their refusal to accept the problem. El PaĆs notes too that the King has also warned about the risk.”

More on upcoming events with Al Gore in Barcelona. Decanter, a wine website, reports Al Gore to speak on climate change and wine. “Former US Vice President Al Gore will be the keynote speaker at a 2008 conference devoted to climate change and its impact on wine. The International Climate Change and Wine conference, the second to be organised by the Wine Academy of Spain, will take place in Barcelona in February 2008.”

Al Gore seems quite busy next year… not running for president.

But then, I hope Mr. Gore has something up his sleeve.

    Where’s the escalator?

  1. “There can be only one.”

“What, are we trying to heat the whole galaxy???”

    or

    “Far out, dude?”

  2. It is not just the wine industry that is deathly concerned with Warming!

EVERY gourmet agricultural product will be hugely affected.

Not to mention all the non-gourmet ones.

You can’t just move the wine industry “north.” The soil has a lot to do with it too….oranges won’t grow in Canadian soil.

  3. Recently, while addressing a class of fourth graders in South Park, CO Al Gore frightened the children with news about a supposed manbearpig.  Most of the children had an easier time believing in manbearpig than Al Gore however, whom they assumed was just another hallucination from the Ritalin prescribed to the majority of the students.

We tried to reach the Town Doctor for comment but were told he was south of the border “stockin’ up”.

-i.p. freely of the Daily News

  4. that Gore guy ain’t so bad either.

“I don’t know if there are men on the moon,” said an impassioned Al Gore. “But if there are they must be using the earth as their lunatic asylum”

Maybe he can hitch a ride home.

BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) — China is planning to launch its first moon orbiter at around 6 p.m. on October 24 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province.

“The satellite will be launched between October 24 and 26 and our first choice is around 6 p.m. on October 24,” a spokesman for the China National Space Administration (CNSA) said.

The circumlunar satellite, which has been named Chang’e I after the legendary Chinese goddess who, according to legend, flew to the moon, and the carrier Long March 3A have passed all pre-launch tests and have been transported to the launch site.

The lunar probe is expected to enter earth-moon transfer orbit on October 31 and arrive in the moon’s orbit on November 5.
