The left is leaving the left? This puzzles me. I’ve left the Democratic party but nobody is pulling me from my leftward leanings.
Or is this another orchestrated piece of bullshit to keep people attached to a political brand (Democrat)? Somehow the left is once again being misrepresented…
And that’s all I wanted to say. Let’s not be fooled again, guys. Let’s not hang desperately onto Democrats like we have no other choices.
We have choices. But what is it we want to accomplish? Really. What is achievable? Measurable by a wide audience? Where’s the best value for effort?
For me, it has remained thus: reinstate the fucking rule of law. Simple. Demand and achieve this: that those we elect to enforce and uphold our laws are held accountable to those laws. And then? Make sure those laws represent the very best of our values and ethics. Return law to justice. Not convenience or expedience. Not law based on fear or trying to control the things.
Get local and regional: School boards, town boards, zoning boards. Set good examples. Be honest. Be tolerant. Be practical.
We need a values change. Blame games, lambasting others, trying to derail the Sarah Palins of the world by calling them stupid isn’t getting it done… especially when we ought to understand what makes her a study in effectiveness. for me, it only exposes how ignorant and intolerant we are. Or maybe we’re just lazy. But give me a plan that doesn’t involve electing more and better democrats.
Anyway… that’s a 30.

it’s almost christmas. an inglorious end to an inglorious decade.
Be tolerant.Be practical.”
Wise words.
I would add one more. Listen.
Listen to peoples concerns and fears.Health care, jobs,a healthy environment, peace.People of all political stripes want these things.
Perhaps if we are better listeners we can find the real center.
I’ve been harping on this all year, and even before that.
The Democrats have become just another Party of Property rather than a Party of People.
People have no one representing them any more.
These parties as they exist now are terminal. They’re not gonna change. They kill change. You can’t change them from without OR within.
The only thing you can do is render them irrelevant.
“Oh, that’ll take years! We don’t have time!”. Bullshit. We have nothing but time. And we have NO ALTERNATIVE except the status quo, and the status quo is destroying us.
However — returning this country into a Constitutional Republic with democratic institutions and rule of law is unlikely. The heavies and the sharks hold the keys and they won’t give it up without a fight. That fight, btw, would include, on their part, violence and they would go as far as they have to go and have proved it many times.
The best thing is to build our own centers of power, make deals, and play one part of the oligarchy against the other. But few people are ready to go there. I think eventually we will because the only way to have power is to be willing to stand up and use force as well as be generous. As I’ve said many times you have to come to play.
At least, the corporate, DLC “Democrats” and the current administration (like the last “Democratic” one) have left us. We need to take our party back and kick the DLC corporatists the hell out, from the local school boards and city councils right on up.
And we don’t got to worry about no steenking “Republican comeback” at the national level, and least of all about poor Sarah Palin. That’s a DLC “boogeyman” meme, all that “Do as I say or the Republicans will come back!!!” business.
The DLC and corporate Democrats now are the Republicans.
Carving up the world into three distinct portions so these portions can perpetually war against each other for profit just isn’t right.
crock of shit in the history of politics between obama and the congressional dems. fubar is an understatement.
Sanders, some way or the other if it’s to succeed.
