Sadly for the music world, Glenn Miller’s life ended all too soon, when he was listed as missing on December 15, 1944, as explained in a wikipedia account of his life…
While traveling to entertain U.S. troops in France during World War II, Miller’s plane disappeared in bad weather. His body has never been found.
