The Party of “No!” in the Age of Yes

The Republicans have re-branded themselves after their embarrassing defeat to the second “black” president in 2008 as The Party of NO!. Their mantra is No. Their philosophy is No. And their tactical approach is to block, obstruct and hinder, or in the words of the great Republican anti-drug crusader and fashion maven, Nancy Reagan, “Just Say No!”

How ironic in this new age where wars rage and poverty ravages and disease devastates and all could be made right by saying Yes, that the Party of the Culture of Life condemns so many to death by just saying no.

Indeed, in our world today No is Death and Yes is Life.

The Party of No rejects Government as Socialism in an Orwellian Irony of tragic proportions as it is clear the current Siamese Twin of Politics and Corporatism is the textbook definition of Fascism to which the Party of No, gleefully says Yes! We enjoy the politics of bribery, not the politics of public service. The PUBLIC has no place in Government whatsoever and therefore to call Obama’s policies Socialism shows the no-brained, zombie, robot army of Republicans for what they are: STUPID!

The Party of No rejects any control on the corporations who have fouled the air, polluted the water, sickened our food and poisoned our planet. Pharmaceuticals do not heal disease. Nature prevents disease. And because Corporate greed has raped nature, stripped her cleanliness, neutered her nutrients and strangled her growth, humanity faces unprecedented starvation, thirst, poverty and disease. All this is is cured by saying Yes to regulation, control and accountability.

The Party of No is addicted to the death and destruction of wars without end and enemies without manifestation. Fear is their Breakfast of Champions. Hate is their fun. Panic is their thrill. They demonize Muslims, Women, Gays, Liberals and anyone who does not practice their particular and narrow version of their Christian cult. They rail against the Great Deceiver, Satan, but worship at the Altar of known liars and war criminals; Bush and Cheney and the Cult of Death called Neo-Conservatism. They turn the notions of good and evil upon their heads and practice evil in the name of good and destroy good in the name of evil.

To say NO! to peace, health, nature, justice, humanity and truth is to embrace, affirm and enthusiastically say yes to Death and revel in man’s inhumanity to man. The Party of No is the Cause of Tragedy. All tragedy is preventable through humility. The Party of No is the Party of Hubris. It is the party of vainglory practiced by those who believe they are chosen by providence to rule by truth over the witless mass. But it is not Truth they possess but dogmatic dark-age superstition which burns witches at the stake and tortures free-spirits and thinkers who have the courage to live beyond the cages of princes, priests and the power to enslave.

It is time for the rest of us to Just Say No to No! And live, breathe, embrace and adopt the philosophy of YES! We can have peace and prosperity. We can know justice and truth. We can live free and in harmony with all humanity with all its diversity and difference. We can achieve the Happiness given as birthright to all if only we pursue it. We can sing, dance, eat, drink and be merry with reverence to Creation, Nature and the planet we call Home. We can say Yes to Life and all she offers.

For all of humanity’s thousands of years of civilization we have already endured war without end, society without justice, cruelty, poverty and ignorance without limit. The Party of No wants to codify archaic superstition and sniff the incense of eternal hellfire. They want a desolation to call peace. They want a smoke and bone pyre of sacrificial heathens to show their god of jealousy, pettiness and monstrosity they are indeed made in HIS image. To the Party of No, change is anathema unless it is a change back to a mythological time which never existed where Father Knew Best and Mom was barefoot and pregnant and everyone was Amish.

They have pitchforks and they are not afraid to use them. We have courage to face the unknown and embrace real faith and not shallow belief that humanity is Good in and of itself and needs no other justification of its existence. They have fear and hate. We have love and courage. It is time to face them down with our superior number, our deeper understanding and our greater wisdom.

It is time to say No to a return to a past which never existed and say yes to a future we make ourselves in the name of the good and the true.
