but I’ve been thinking about this–as you pointed out a while ago Edgar, so much of the problem is related to military use of oil, not just “driving to work” . Entirely something we do by choice. Maintaining the biggest user of oil in the world–the US military; for no rational purpose at all.
I think we do have to re-examine our ‘driving to work’ habit — and our sitting here plugging away on our computers too. And in fact everything we own that goes bleep, or has little flashy led lights, and so on.
But, the constant shrill drive to blame the consumer sector, while the biggest user of energy in the entire world totally avoids scrutiny is just wrong.
