You say you want a revolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world
You tell me that it’s evolution
Well, you know
We all want to change the world…

What’s the verdict?
David G. Mills replied this morning to Nick Egnatz’s ideas quoted in Tahoe’s essay What To Do Now?
Anybody have a better idea?
…whatever good or evil people may practice, their efforts always result in the execution of God’s will…(Calvin)
This pretty much shields everybody from responsibility, especially the wealthy elite and their paid executors. They, in particular, need “belief” to support their rationalizations and behaviour. The poor people are merely manifestations of God’s will. They need to labor, be thankful and not think. They are expendable.
This underlies our politics. The corporation is the perfect, earthly manifestation of this theosophy: Powerful, but with limited respsonsibility and oversight.
It naturally grows as it holds itself out as the sine qua non of modern civilization. It buys obeisance.
We need to commit to a new “state of being” (political and intellectual) based upon science, reason and morality.
You know, the Enlightenment. It needs to catch up with America. The Republicans and Democrats are still hunting for the Holy Grail, if you can fkin believe it!
What do we do now? Is there a final act? I don’t know, but be sure you’re out of the way when the Gothic Towers come tumbling down when the earth shakes.
