Greenwald discusses wisdom of letting Obama & Palin hunt Americans from helicopters.

Sadly, that title is not hyperbole.  Check out this video (via Dave Cohen) of Greenwald’s superb, hour-long presentation in Madison, WI on Civil Liberties and Terrorism in the Age of Obama.  You will find no clearer analysis of our present situation.

    It is not just a problem of the government and (increasingly) publicly charted corporations acting under the authority of the government violate, routinely, our Constitutionally guaranteed rights. It goes beyond that and includes letting people who are powerful get away, again routinely, with almost any crime no matter how grave.

    We need to digest the fact we live in a country that is ruled by decree. That means, yes, laws are enforced but they are enforced arbitrarily and by decree depending on your political position.

    The Great Game

    My 5 second takeaway from the latest wikileaks is that we spend an enormous amount of resources doing mostly pointless but still somewhat offensive stuff just so we can keep up the whole spy vs. spy nonsense, then cover it up.
