The oligarchs are a very small minority. Most Americans are just confused, fearful and ignorant and want to remain that way. Don’t blame the oligarchs for stepping in to take over when the average citizen prefers fantasies and spectacles to citizenship.
The ones opposing the oligarchs have little following and, you are right, are disorganized because, in fact, they are more interested in their own fantasies and spectacles when push comes to shove. A united and militant left could have a real effect but I think the actions that need to be taken are still to emerge. I think the actions should center on creating alternative economies, institutions and communities–I have’nt heard of any thing better.
