Really, we’re all into this mess together. We have to avoid blaming “them.” If we’re on the losing side of the class-struggle we  have only ourselves to blame. For me it’s impossible to see it any differently. We are each responsible for our own lives and we’re all very deeply connected.

For example, I think a good argument can be made that the reason the right has so dramatically dominated politics since 1978 was that most people on the left were busy pursuing private interests rather than maintaining solidarity and acting militantly when it was obvious that action was necessary. Also, see how the left swallowed the 9/11 war hysteria–at least most portions of it–this hysteria was clearly manufactured and planned over quite a long time. All the repressive legislation was there ready to be implemented within days and weeks–the war plans had been made, everything was in place–inlcluding the opportunity to raid our pocketbooks on Wall Street–the left just lay there and “everybody” supported the invasion of Afghanistan based on what evidence? There was no evidence.

Where’s the link to your crosspost at dailyfubar.com?

    Eh?

  1. They don’t have much of a frame of reference.

I remember the Cuban missile crisis.

We were a couple of days away from bending over and kissing our collective asses good-bye.

Now that was a fucked-up time.

Makes today seem like a fucking hallelujah chorus.

    WWII was no picnic either.

But the song was funny, nevertheless.

  2. I use that word in private.  I do not use it in public.

    Is that weird?

    Warmest regards,

    Doc
