South African leader and icon, Nelson Mandela died today at his home in Johannesburg surrounded by his family and friends.
Madiba is gone from this earth but not from the hearts of the world.

May the Goddess guide him on his journey to the Summerlands. May his family, friends and the world find Peace.
but we knew through his very being that he was truly a good man.
A man who had an incredible life and still maintained his sense of humanity throughout it all.
An extraordinary human being who had an extraordinary life . . . . all in his fight for justice and the rights of human beings!
How can we not feel sadness on his passing?
While the media will herald Mandela’s successes and whitewash him as an ‘historical figure’, let’s not forget that he never claimed victory over the continued injustices of the world:
“Massive poverty and obscene inequality are such terrible scourges of our times – times in which the world boasts breathtaking advances in science, technology, industry and wealth accumulation – that they have to rank alongside slavery and apartheid as social evils…
… Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.
And overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life.
While poverty persists, there is no true freedom.
”
