A donkey trapped in a well – it’s a metaphor for something…
About the photo – “A donkey sits trapped in an abandoned well before being rescued Thursday at the Bryan Nelson residence about 10 miles northeast of Underwood, Minn. Firefighters dismantled the well to free the donkey which had some bruises and lost some hair where it rubbed against the concrete walls of the well, but was otherwise fine.” – Jeffrey Hage, Associated Press. (Star Tribune)
More from the AP, Firefighters Save Donkey Trapped in Well “A donkey is happily eating grass again after falling down a dry, abandoned well and being freed in an intensive rescue effort. It appeared that the animal wandered away from its farm and onto some boards covering the well, which broke”.
Surely, this donkey in a well is an omen or sign or something. Anybody have any guesses? I’m not very good at predicting the future…

Maybe he was trying to hide from the world intending to come up at some unspecified date when the fuss was over. He is sorta cute though….
…walking down a street and falling into a hole…repeatedly.
THE metaphor!
Trapped in a hole that they walked right into.
Let us hope our intensive rescue effort is effective soon!
of a group of people I am aware of……
to keep his powder dry.
I suppose these images are better than the image I still have in head of when Beulah our pack mule on a 2 week hike into the high Sierras decided to drown herself quite dead standing in 2 inches of water!

This was too easy. Come on give us a challenge!
I was so pleased to hear that he was rescued.
but she’s outside so not her. but the donky cart pic is freakin hilarious.
I can’t even believe this fucking shit.
I just returned from a little get together with friends. Among them I have an acquaintance who works for Stanford University as some sort of student administrator.
She told me a long time ago that Condaleeza was returning to Stanford (no surprise there!) and that this was a good thing. A good thing. Why? Because it would somehow keep her out of trouble. Keep her from somehow or other influencing foreign policy.
Yes. So this is one of the most blatantly stupid ideas I can possibly imagine. Having Rice at one of the foremost research institutions in the country, spreading her ideas to students and writing position papers for the fucking Hoover Institute, will keep her from influencing foreign policy?
Moronic nonsense.
In any case, I don’t much respect this person. She seemed, despite her own alleged progressive beliefs, rather pleased with having a big name like Rice associated with the University.
{This, btw, is a woman who considers herself a socialist, yet is just thrilled by the prospect of a Hillary presidency. Does that make even the slightest bit of fucking sense?}
Anyway, tonight she told me that, ta da, Rumsfeld will also likely be joining Stanford’s Hoover Institute. And AGAIN she started to justify this by starting to say, before I waived her off with a scowl and moved on to other people, “But at least he’ll be ensconced at the University rather than out there…”
This just pisses me off. I am not in any way associated with Stanford University, but I like Stanford. It’s a very beautiful place, it’s near where I live, and I have conducted research there.
But when I think that this place, that I have terrific respect for, is making a home for a couple of FASCISTS that are each partly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, it just makes me want to throw up.
And, yes, I understand that the Hoover Institute is a conservative think tank. I get it. But, nonetheless, how can Stanford University… even the fucking Hoover Institute… justify giving these people a venue to spread their insidious, violent, and unjust ideology?
Shameful, as far as I am concerned.
Disgusting.
I am sickened and depressed.
Fuck the bastards.
