Loathsome, nasty, repellent and repulsive.

Out of some morbidly twisted sense of fascination with the loathsome, nasty, repellent and repulsive side of life (after all, why else would I have spent all these years blogging about the metaphorical trail of slime left behind by this guy?) I might just break a nearly fifteen year record and actually go into a movie theater again and put up with the 10 or so minutes of 120 decibel commercials to watch this one. I have no idea why otherwise.

Here’s the trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcoming movie to be released October 17, based on the life of President George W. Bush. Josh Brolin plays Bush, Elizabeth Banks plays his wife Laura, and Richard Dreyfuss plays Vice President Dick Cheney. Best of all, Rob Corddry plays former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer.

Here’s “W.”…

I hope they’ll have airsick bags in the seat backs by then.

In 1974, George spent Superbowl Sunday at a party hosted by Hunter S. Thompson. When asked decades later if he remembered whether Bush had used any drugs at his party, Thompson replied:

“I can’t be expected to remember what every drug-addled yuppie hanger-oner who wanted to get close to me during a football game twenty-five years ago digested. There were so many dope fiends milling about, I don’t remember what some Yalie named Bush, whose father was a factotum in the Nixon Administration, was doing. But he strikes me as the sort of person I would have thrown out of the room. A rich, beer-drunk yahoo with a big allowance who passes out in your bathtub. … I don’t want to become the Deep Drug Throat. … I won’t do it.”

  1. Damn.  Dude, we need your support!  How am I supposed to make rent if y’all don’t go to the movies?

people knew all about Bush Minor. He had a history of being a loser and an all-around Jerk. He showed little ability yet “they” put him in office and made him a credible candidate by hyping him–I remember a week-long hagiography in the Washington Post in late 1999(?)–I knew then something was up.

One of the problems with the left-blogosphere is the emphasis on Bush–he’s not important. What we should focus on is who the hell are “they”.
