It was surprise to run into Charlie. She remembered how he had thought the Tea-Party was a good thing, “They want to restore the Constitution. Forget the one or two crazies in the front, the movement is good!” He had been sure Obama killed National Prayer day, then went to a Mosque to pray the same day, and that the recession started because of Pelosi not Bush. He claimed the Democrats had been in charge the whole time Bush was in Power, and that while Bush was a dolt, it wasn’t his fault. No amount of convincing could prove otherwise back then. So many bought it. He was a good man with his own demons.

She didn’t mention it. He looked pretty rough. She had to go to work, and didn’t want to be late, the gas station line had taken too much time.  

It never ceases to amaze me how little attention North American’s pay to the CIA-backed gunboat diplomacy attacks on our South American neighbor’s Democracies.

“Another year, another South American coup!” Are we naive enough here to just think “those people are violent and unable to govern themselves peacefully…”?

Sorry, not so. It is our neo-liberals attacking people who want the best for themselves, so that our businesses can exploit them unencumbered by a government that has their People’s interests at heart.

Forgive me for taking it down to basics here, but I fear half of the US is not even aware what the acronym ALBA stands for. This coalition of self-determination, people’s power against US hegemony and imperialist exploitation is always our targets.

The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (Spanish: Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América, or ALBA) is an international cooperation organization based on the idea of social, political, and economic integration between the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is associated with socialist and social democratic governments and is an attempt at regional economic integration based on a vision of social welfare, bartering and mutual economic aid, rather than trade liberalization as with free trade agreements. ALBA nations are in the process of introducing a new regional currency, the SUCRE. It is intended to be the common virtual currency by 2010 and eventually a hard currency. On Tuesday, July 6, 2010, Venezuela and Ecuador conducted the first bilateral trade deal between two ALBA countries using the new trading currency, the Sucre, instead of the US dollar.

Members are Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Venezuala. Observer states of the organisation are Grenada, Haiti, Paraguay and Uruguay.

Wherein they seek to convince people that returning to the Bush Policies that took their jobs and created the Economic Collapse is good for them…

– Stop job-killing tax hikes

C’mon America!!! You know that all those Bush tax cuts for the rich created jobs… in the 3rd world countries they sent them to.

– Allow small businesses to take a tax deduction equal to 20 percent of their income.

You mean like these “small businesses? Keith Olbermann was kind enough to list a few for us.

   * Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., a Wall Street firm with $445 million in revenue in 2009.

This from the Party of Pork and Bridges to Nowhere? If the MULTI-BILLIONAIRE COMPANIES PAID TAXES THERE WOULD BE NO DEFICIT.

Mandates? You mean the option of having the TAX BREAKS you so desire for offering a Health Care Plan? WTF? You want tax breaks for Businesses – but don’t ask them for any actual WORKER benefits in return. Again: See the definitions of “small business above. Or better yet, watch the Olbermann video.

Conclusion about the Job Promise?

They are trying to convince people that it is small Mom & Pop’s suffering, when they only thing they suffer from is Megacorp competition and their edge of outsourcing. They want to cut taxes for the rich, with no redress for our floundering National Debt. There is no provision AT ALL for any kind of JOB GUARANTEE or creation – no, in fact, they want to institute the lack of regulation that created the Economic Crash and sent your Job Overseas.

That’s Pledge One to Americorps – We can trick the masses into supporting your Oligarchy.

It started so simply, I think therefore I am, with simple self-awareness. The things that preceded that moment are still there; I hunger, I thirst, I lust, I tire, I hurt, I enjoy. Our infancy of basic need-survival was awoken to the subtle idea of more at some point.

I cannot fathom that it was simply borne of fear, this feeling, a desire to explain the inexplicable. The human psyche is wired so that whatever its external conditions are, that is “normal” for that psyche. A child born in poverty that has known nothing else does not know its poor. A woman who goes blind, just accepts blindness as part of her life, without the addition of what came later to humanity.

No. It had to be a more subtle moment. Perhaps a moment as simple as the brush of a fingertip along a lover’s lips as they slept, or the trembling goosebumps from a soft tease of the fine hairs at the nape of a precious neck. Something that awoke our realization of our magic. Something that whispered a bigger connection. The wonder of the dew on an unfurling leaf in the spring, sunsets, soft breezes, the murmur of a newborn baby. Something woke us up to the amazing fact, that not only do we exist, but the power within us was something more, a synergy created as more than the product of our basic needs.

It existed nowhere but inside of us, and we called it “Love.”  Self-awareness, the awareness of others, the awareness of the magic of Love was all within us, growing like the glorious seed of MORE, and it was us. Something growing amazingly inside of us.

I’ve come a long road since my formulation as a wee hippy-wannabe tweener. Like most tree-hugging liberals, my main purpose in life has always been to save the world. Tranquility, equality, prosperity, equity, dignity, all those “itty” things that would create a common good. I even danced with the idea of vegetarianism. Basic biology and my need to keep my sugar leveled out and replenish my iron trumped that.

Even through the angsty teen years and the wildness of my twenties, I held strong to those ideals, working to be sure that I never became that which I opposed.  I was every bit “be the change you want to make” and a non-violent flower child. I took in stray people, handed out money like it was an endless fountain, and helped anyone I could.

Entering adulthood, I learned to forgive. A LOT. Pasts, parents, myself, and the frailties of those around me who other people broke. To the point, I might add, that I am almost a magnet for the broken, most survivors like me, others serious whack jobs.

I still try and do one random act of kindness a day. I never tell the story when I do. Today, it bummed me out, every day presents at least one… and an old man was struggling to get his empty garbage can up his steep, long driveway. I couldn’t stop, there are appointments that can’t wait. Non-random kindness was more important this time. Still I feel bad for not stopping the car and taking the 30 seconds to do it.

But through all this, running parallel but equal was a fierce survival instinct. A pragmatism born of the abuse, I suppose. Or maybe it would have been my nature in a perfect world. I know what people are capable of with the heightened awareness of the hunted. I want a higher angel world, but there was not a moment in that history that I wasn’t aware of monsters.

What about my guns? What about freedom fighters? What about revolutionaries? What about protecting those you love from those who would kill them without a thought?

NO ONE is Representing “We The People” anymore. If you are tired of choosing between the lesser of the two evils, tired of being Promised “Change” and having none…. Join in our Protest.

The brainchild of Diane Gee, Burn the Ballot 2010 Day is a way to do our Civic Duty: Employ our Free Speech to show that we feel disenfranchised, show that we demand Elections, not Selections, show that we want The People to be represented, not …Wall Street, not Insurance Companies and Big Pharma, not the Corporate Donors padding our Federal Employee’s wallets.

Write your Local Paper, and tell them of your intent to protest. Then grab your video cameras, and walk out with your Ballot, and calmly (and safely) light it on fire. Should conditions prohibit safe burning, tear your ballot up, but be sure to get it on film.

It is of utmost importance that we do this with the safety of all surrounding people and structures in mind.

Until our voices are heard, reckoned with, we must show up, and show that we will not go quietly into Poverty and Despair.

One talking point could be the suggestion that all Ballots MUST have a “None of the Above” option. Should the Majority of Voters choose that option, then the election must be held again, with NEW candidates.

We can continue negating elections until we are given choices that truly represent us.

Our momentum from 2008 must mean something. Our hopes were betrayed, but our will is still strong. No war, more infrastructure, economic relief, national health care, the restoration of our privacy, transparent government and campaign finance reform.

Burning your Ballot is a Mandate.

We still want CHANGE.

One thing about being terminally depressed, angry at everything and everyone, disillusioned, and repeatedly disappointed in the humanity around me is that it makes me rather prolific. My best shit comes, always, out of a dark place, the place screaming to be heard, valued. Not that anyone hears it, or cares enough to bother….but that doesn’t stop me from screaming into the abyss. Being under the gun seems to cut my tolerance for the shallow, the hollow and the utter bullshit around me… its either that, or maybe just a particularly bad round of PMS. Who can possibly tell?

Its 9, 10 almost 11 and I want to tear my hear from its roots and scream “Enough Already! Get the fuck over it!!!” Sounds harsh, I know, and yes, I wept for the humanity as the towers fell. But for fucks sakes, more people die in this country every year from lack of Insurance Coverage. Fuck the number cry of  9/11/10; we should be screaming for the blood of the bean counters killing us for maximum profits instead of some misguided sense of Patriotism. Who weeps for that humanity?

We have killed a thousand or more Innocent Iraqis for every dead American. They should be the ones for whom 9/11 is a cry of terror. 14 thousand versus millions? Cry me a fucking river, America. You had one bad thing happen to you, compared the billions of attacks, murders, coups and terrors you have bestowed on the World. Who weeps for that humanity as well?

Besides, it is utterly self-absorbed counter-intuitive bullshit to live as a perma-victim when bad shit happens to you. You cannot spend your life thinking, “Poor me, why did this happen to me?” Me and ten thousand other abuse survivors know this. You have to let it go and move the fuck on. Reliving it keeps you stuck exactly in the place you’re trying to get away from.

And in this case, the abuse is more or less a false-memory planted by a devious psychiatrist who wants to keep us in the chair so we continue to pay them to diddle us.

So, every fucking time they drag out this false flag attack, a thing that has been proven to be an inside goddamn job, to justify more murders, the total fucking loss of our Sacred Rights, I want to PUKE.
