A Country-Wide Scam aka Penny Mac-Attack
In 2007, mortgage lender Countrywide Financial Corp underwent a series of Class Action Lawsuits in a number of States. One, in Illinois, was settled in October of 2008 after Countrywide’s acquisition by Bank of America, who chose to settle out of court.
Still, others pending as of February 27th, 2008, were not only suing over subprime loans and hidden balloons, but “reaping profits from “inflated, unverifiable or false” charges.”
According to the lawsuit, Countrywide frequently charges $300 to $500 for appraisals that are not done at all, or that are mere “drive-by” inspections by appraisers who don’t even stop their cars when passing mortgaged properties.
Countrywide has $300 to $500 “flat-fee” arrangements with law firms that handle foreclosures, the lawsuit says. Yet it hits homeowners with legal bills of $1,200 to $2,0000.
I have relatives directly involved in one such suit here in Michigan. After making two late payments (but each within 30 days) sudden inexplicable charges showed up in their mortgage. They were assessed an additional $400.00 a month for an “escrow” account on their loan. An escrow account with no discernible purpose. They paid both their taxes and their insurance independently of that loan.
They were told once they had one full house payment secured in that account, the charges would be dropped. After several months, the charges went up, not down. There were all kinds of “fees” attached, and they increased the interest rate on what was written as a fixed loan.
Rather than continue to argue with them monthly, they just stopped paying, and walked away from their home.
So what do you do when you are caught stealing billions of dollars? Change your name and steal more.

The Laptop in Waist-land
Holy cannolli and guacamole.
No wonder we bloggers tend towards growing slightly fluffy. How long have you been blogging from bed? I mean, I do realize that this thing called a “laptop” is not a new invention to most of you. I remain as culture shocked as a country dog discovering city fire hydrants. “Wow, I can leave my mark here. And here. And here too! There is a Dog!”
Although the bed thing is overrated. Unless you have the flexibility of a 12 yr old, and do NOT have a slipped disc, the lying on your tummy arched up on elbows to type is over quicker than a DOJ self-investigation. The propped on pillows against the headboard, with the thing on your knees is OK, but it isn’t officially “lying in bed”… its more like sitting up slouchily. (yes i make up words) That leaves the side lay, but again, the one arm head prop leaves only one hand with which to type. This must be the favored position of the guy who invented spell check. All I need now is a mini-fridge and one cup coffemaker, and I’d never leave the room.
Talk about fat, lazy Americans. What a hoot.
I used to have to actually GET UP and run room to room when I live blogged something on TV. Now even that meager exercise is a thing of the past. I do suppose it is self-limiting though. The day my belly overhangs the mousepad clickers, I will have to do something.
No small wonder webcams have become passe. I don’t want to see your morning breathed, hair mussed, jammy wearing, lazy ass, fluffy growing, bed lying self any more than you want to see me now. I like my illusions, and the control of only letting the finished product out.

Demented Stories.
All of these stories are true.
All of these stories can be taken as parables if you wish.
The recent story cannot be proven, yet the others all have witnesses or physical evidence. I fixed someone lately, someone who didn’t even know he (i think) was sick; that part I cannot prove.
I’m going with the most extreme one first, because these stories have brewed up in my head and need purging, and it will give my readers the opportunity to walk away before suffering through the rest.
I don’t think that will happen. Too many of my friends have spoke their own tales privately to me; too many have quietly admitted the knowledge of the force within themselves; even if they were taught to disregard it at a young age.
I am fascinated by connections, the lines of the World, lines I saw long before I read Castenada.

Here’s to Alex Jones of INFOWARS.COM for viralizing among bloggers what went largely ignored by the media: A practice drill by the military on an Iowan town. On Friday, February 20th, he dedicated a large portion of his radio show to objecting as well. He was committed to doing his show live from Arcadia in portest, and encouraged others to join him.
Company A, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry had planned a four-day exercise the first weekend of April to practice cordon-and-search operations in an urban environment.
The Daily Times Herald of Carrol, Iowa quietly broke the story on February 17th without comment or objection.

Obama’s statement is refreshingly bold for a politician, who rarely take responsibility for anything. Anything that fails that is. I’m positive that statement made people on the brink of losing everything feel like Obama himself is risking everything in his personal life too. This week he repeatedly made sure the blame for the current situation lay directly on the previous administrations lap. These darn bad guys messed us up, and you and I have it all on the line, folks!
Brilliant framing all around, doncha think?
However, he reserves the right to say, in the future, “Well the Republican’s way brought us here, the Democrats tried to restructure the economy with a bill and the Republicans watered it down with more of the same, and that’s why it failed. Now lets try it our way.” I predict within a year we will be hearing THAT speech. Pass the buck one-oh-one. Always leave yourself an out.

The truth of the matter to me? He has been hard selling a watered down bill, yes, but rather than push the one we asked for; he is setting up the Republicans for more fall-guy blame. He is Campaigning already.

I mean, who would have thought that the Republican’s would be looking for any or all inane bullshit scandals to bring down people in an Obama administration? Are you shocked?
Are you shocked any less that President Obama stepped into his victim’s role like a brilliant second dying to fill the shoes of an aging Democratic Party who have long lost their chops?

Unrequited Love, and the Failed Obama Presidency
I’m with Rachel here. Maddow NAILS it, when she uses the unrequited love analogy to describe the mindboggling “bi-partisan” courtship that ultimately betrays President Obama’s base.
The Republican’ts (y,gctt) are alternately amused by, and annoyed by Obama’s apparent infatuation with them, and his utter abject heartbreak at not being able to evoke the same feelings in kind.
