yeah just saying hey.

Writing this diary sucks.  I hate it.  I can copy and paste the horrible news we get everyday but you read it so i’ll spare you.

I spent almost a decade screaming at the top of my lungs about days like these that have come with the subtlety of a brick through a fucking Starbucks window. I was told to shut up, put in jail, even banned from “progressive” blog sites for even suggesting both parties we’re taking massive pay from special interests and we can’t expect them to bite the hand that feeds.  No luck on getting through to people to wake them up to the reality.

Here it is, the overcharging for endless war and export of all our manufacturing jobs and we now implode while Goldman Sachs gets blood from our last vein to move on to another nation-state with representatives that will suck dick for asswipe money and allow them to manipulate their markets to profit and move the roadshow to the next town.  

The stateless multi-national is a wandering vampire of economies.  

Where is our Van Helsing when we need them?

Working 9-5 at some dead-end job because the ones with money have more power than the ones with brains.

No longer do we think in terms of “Democrat and Republican” but we see our survival as citizens depends on figuring out “grass eaters or meat eaters”.

Who is taking pay for helping industry and who is on the payroll to propose legislation that repeals regulatory restrictions on financial industries so they can blow bubbles and walk-out with your grand-kids college money?  

One nation, under debt, even after paying their dues.

I write this on a day in which I’m supposed to revel in the days of our nation’s birth.  

But the “bombs bursting in air” makes me think of the Predator Drone attacks on civilians in Afghanistan and my thoughts everyday are somewhere between “what dollar menu item before work will it be today?” and “what kind of statment would I be making by driving my car through the IRS building?”

Empathy and Rage.  

Love and War.  

Wanting to unleash an army of fed-up citizens on the nearest government strongholds in your neighborhood to set-up a chain of command within the city limits that cares for all the needs of the citizens within it’s jurisdiction while also wanting to set-up  a separate squad of Third-World Style kidnapping teams to bring back the heads of industry responsible for the treason and theft of more than just our nation’s economy.  Only to hold a trial via YouTube with the widely broadcasting in-court executions being watched by millions. And of course, the C-SPAN ending of the cleaning guy with a mop afterward.

We hold these truths to be self-evident that our new President is bank-loving corporate scum who I judge on the content of his character and not the color of his skin.  His words that dismiss the rights of millions and deem their love unconstitutional only to then gather them together and promise them of better treatment from him in the future.  The constant promise to the people hurting in this economy that “help is on the way” only to bail out the banks faster than passing the legislation he promised that doesn’t even put a dent in the kind of help we all need or is even near adequate in terms of the time it will take for it to reach us.  His loyal obedience to a Bush-Era military plan that smells an awful like the old boss but with the smile of a new one, fuck it.  

I held a small amount of “Hope” that maybe, just maybe, he’d be somebody to help us move forward as a country into an “Age of Reason” but now I know that we just switched trains and are still on the same route destined for Fucksville but now just with a smiling cheery conductor.  

I looked at Obama the same way one with a heavy workload looks to a promising new co-worker that seems like they could actually help.  Well, more than the last asshat who riddled your work with spelling errors and shit.  Has an actual degree from Harvard Law that wasn’t bought with his parent’s money too.  He shows up, has past experience in “community organizing”, and you figure “what a great addition to the team!”.

But then he starts asking you to buy him lunch, asks for a ride and to “pick up some friends” on the way to work, sweet talks the bosses while dumping the work on you, and when you ask him what the hell he’s actually doing he gives you a wonderful and well-thought-out speech that promises a better effort on his part that you stand in amazement was an actual pre-packaged response for an “off the cuff” question of yours.  

However, when he walks away and the amazement fades, you realize you just got stuck with another do-nothing shit head.  

This one just comes up with a better way to hide it.

A survey by the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) said that 45 percent of respondents reported a decrease in their 2009 May 1 yield rates compared with 2008. It said 32 percent of public colleges and 50 percent of private colleges reported a decrease.

The yield rate, as calculated by the survey, represents the number of students who confirm enrollment with a deposit by the May 1 deadline divided by the total number of students accepted to the university during the regular enrollment period.

But even for those students who applied to and were accepted by their dream schools, many are still faced with the economic reality that their families just don’t have enough money to pay the university’s tuition.

First sample family? Not bad, whatevs, they’re doin at least ok anyways.

Now let’s cut that income in half, keep the same family, and show the $8000 dollars they’d be eligible for from the government if they would ever get approved for a home-loan in the first place so let’s just act as if that’s not even there.  Oh, and don’t forget the $800 tax cut that covers maybe a month of gas, some bills, and…well that’s it.  Thanks Uncle Sam!

Then they keep the couple, add an extra kid and cut the income in half again!  Now you got a couple, 3 kids, at $30K.  Oh boy oh boy! a one time yearly gift of $2200!  What a great lift out of poverty for them!

The last family is a couple with one kid who’s a full-time student with $4k in college expenses (on what planet does a full-time student at a 4 year school only have $4k in expense?!) an their income is $90k. Oh boy, $1500.  The kid will get a laptop.
