(thanks, Dad)

So, okay, we’re in what I call “car hell” and I haven’t talked about it much because, well, it gets all personal and detailed and all that. And, we’ll knock figure it out, like we always do, like we always have.

And now the PBS radio has on Bolero. lol. Dad loved that. That was our nod to “classical music” growing up. heh. Dad was a Barbershop Quartet champ.

Okay, so, cars. I… hmmm …  I’m a Honda girl. I want another Honda. DH (Dear Husband in wwwmomland) is a Does It Run? How much $? guy. “Let’s limp along with it for just a little longer.” And, “damn, I could buy xyz with that amount of money!” And, “cars only DEpreciate (not like flutes which Appreciate).”

Okay, but dead is dead. Cars, I mean. Well, people too, sadly.

ExGitmo Detainee in Bermuda Speaks on CNN

Here’s something for anyone who’s in a pissy mood with no one to piss at. Or on. Grrr.

I saw this late last night, I had CNN on my teevee, looking for News on the Iran situation. So this comes on.

CNN’s Don Lemon gets fmr. Security Advisor Townsend’s reaction to two freed gitmo detainees who claim they were innocent.

Townsend was a real piece of work.

It wasn’t all that easy to find. Click to watch -> “Ex-Gitmo Detainees Speak” over there.

Stand By / Bodhisattva

Saturday speed blogging… reading… after almost finishing up with my morning chores and getting the old man out the door to a gig, I sat down to see if I could catch up with whatever I’ve missed the last few days. Not counting the “disputed” Iran vote, Palin vs Letterman, and countless other (often pointless) headline grabbers.

Cant take it. Hit a wall.

Please go read  Worthington, who is close to sainthood, if you ask me.

Meanwhile, you can follow my crumbs.

Also last night or today, read DD’s best… Winter Rabbit, Robyn, NightProwlKitty, and everybody else, as much as I can. 🙂

Can ya get more lonely than this? Bermuda UPDATE

It really gets to me, this story of the Chinese Uighers. Wrongly imprisoned (long story), homeless, stateless. Nowhere on the planet will take them in.

On the entire planet. Can you imagine? The whole entire planet!

Until now. Maybe. Because it must still be Backwards Day.

UPDATE: Bermuda takes four, see below.

Another UPDATE: intersting article Uighers face culture shock going to Palau which aso has this hidden tidbit within: “Raxit added that China probably won’t allow the Uighurs’ families to visit or join them, so the men will experience intense isolation and loneliness.”

ABC Telling the Truth (finally)…?

“I’m a normal man,” said Boumediene, who at the time of his arrest worked for the Red Crescent, providing help to orphans and others in need. “I’m not a terrorist.”

Ah ha! Greenwald links to a 3 minute youtube of the interview:

In an ABC News EXCLUSIVE today, Jake Tapper has an interview with Lakhdar Boumediene. It has aired in part on Good Morning America and will hopefully be seen far and wide.

Glenn Greenwald has more with good info and lots more links.

Lakhdar Boumediene is an Algerian who, while living in Bosnia working for the International Red Crescent, was arrested by the Bosnian government (at the behest of the Bush administration) shortly after 9/11 on charges of plotting to blow up a U.S. and British embassy, but was then quickly cleared by Bosnian courts of any wrongdoing and ordered released.  But as he was about to be released — in January, 2002 — he was abducted by the U.S. military inside Bosnia and shipped to Guantanamo, where he remained without charges for the next almost 8 years, and was clearly tortured.

Will we finally get some sanity from an “informed citizenry” now?

I suggest you call or email any of your “moderate” friends and family and urge them to watch it.

Also jimstaro has posted about this at l’orange, go give him some love over there (if you dare make the trip!).

New York New York

You guys are getting me all melancholy. Homesick for New York.

Can you be homesick for a place you’ve never lived?

Behind the Eight Ball

Really wish I had the time to camp out a write an essay… and get into some discussion, Ill hop in here though with a a few thoughts util maybe another day when I have more time.

Cheney. Well, nothing gets my blood boiling faster than seeing him or his daughter all over my TV and certainly they are all over it. On a Tour. This has been bugging me, but it puzzles me. What are they up to? (I dont trust them of course, for a second).

Well, with this recent Speech and these proposals from Obama, Im beginning to think… it’s working… the Cheney plot. whatever it is! (ha ha). He’s got BHO up against the wall. Behind the eight ball.

to help get him there.

It’s so easy.

My Insomnia Essay

that didn’t get written because I decided to try to sleep instead, and I did.

Sleep that is. Last night.

But it was fucking brilliant, I want you to know, brilliant, I tell you.

The title was leaning strongly towards:

“When the Tiger is Laying Down… Dont Say S/He Is Sleeping” which is my favorite Cambodian proverb. Well, the only one I know actually. And Im not sure if the tiger is she or a he.

Torture:Justice :: Down Time. Weekly Action Series #6

So annoying when the mundane things of living life get in the way or sidetrack, derail, blindside or just plain wipe you out. Sigh. I’m decidedly uninspired for writing an Action Diary this week, but there are a few things that are rattling around  that I’d like to toss out there.

Start with this for background music.  Chick Corea and Return to Forever – Spain (Light as a Feather)

We all need some down time once in a while, take time to re-group, re-charge, maybe re-think. Then come back swingin.
