Bush worried about Security Pact with Iraq? Looks like it.
On June 14th, President Bush while discussing a “status of forces” agreement said that he is confident the United States can reach a long term security agreement with Iraq, one that will not establish permanent U.S. bases there.
That is the first step in understanding that Bushie and his neo-con minions are sweating the Security Pact agreement with Iraq that they SO want completed in the very near future. Prior to June 14, there was no real substantive information from the administration regarding NOT having permanent U.S. Military bases in Iraq via this agreement.
In Bush’s exact words: “Whatever we agree to, it will not commit future presidents to troop levels, nor will it establish permanent bases.”
The second reason to believe Bush and Company are getting nervous is on that same date, an aide for Iraqi P.M. Al-Malaki said that Iraqi officials are frustrated by the lack of progress in negotiations, so they are contemplating developing legislation to dictate the shape of the American military presence in Iraq. Al-Malaki himself stated that the first drafts of the agreement that were proposed had reached a deadlock in negotiations.
Again, ol’ never-give-in-never-say-you-were-wrong-never-take-NO-for-an-answer Bushie is giving up something that originally was very important to him (permanent bases) because the Iraqi’s aren’t rolling over and playing dead for him (unlike a certain group of Congressional Democrats who will remain nameless….)

Giraffes, and Camels and Bee’s…..Oh MY!
The Wildlife is fighting back!
Due to global warming, high oil prices, food shortages, lack of clean drinking water, droughts across the planet and other various doomsday stuff, Mother Nature is on a rampage and may be coming to a town near you soon.
The whole thing started when a Giraffe and his Posse decided to make a break for freedom in Amsterdam.
From The Peoples Republic of CNN:
Giraffe gathers troops, leads great escape from circus
Fifteen camels, several llamas and a potbellied pig broke out of a circus near Amsterdam on Monday. The ringleader? A giraffe who bolted, too.
Police said the giraffe kicked open a fence and walked out.
“The other animals walked out with him,” said Amsterdam police spokesman Rob Van Der Veen.
The animals were part of a traveling circus that had set up its tents in the city of Amstelveen, six miles outside the Dutch capital.
They made their break about 5:45 a.m., wandering about a residential street and riling up a neighborhood dog, police said.
Officers and circus employees rounded them up before they could get too far and returned them to their pens.
What they didn’t tell you in this story is that the “Wild Thang Gang” almost made it to the shipyards and were planning on boarding a ship bound for Madagascar!
Too bad it didn’t work. That would have made quite a movie, someday…..

Liberal Media Bias? Are we REALLY getting ready to attack Iran?
The Peoples Republic of CNN reports today that the Bush Administration is running a whole lot of covert operations inside Iran in order to prepare the battlefield for an attack against their nuclear facilities while really trying to make trouble for the current regime in Iran.
My guess is that the real reasoning has nothing at all to do with nuclear anything, but has much more to do with the fact that the current regime in Iran isn’t very friendly to Exxon-Mobil, British Petroleum, Shell Oil, etc, etc. I think that the entire situation emanating from BushCo regarding Iran is all about regime change due to oil. The continuation of the War On Terror For Oil, if you will.
Hey, call me silly, but it could be true! 😉

Liberal Media Bias? Will McClatchy Torture those who Torture?
John Yoo and David Addington managed to show up yesterday before the House Judiciary Committee (HOLY Bamboo under the fingernails, Batman! They showed up?!?) and started laying out a considerable load of crap before the members of the Judiciary Committee regarding their “diminished roles” compared to what people have been led to believe regarding interrogation techniques. Well, among other things like Presidential powers, and just plain raping and pillaging the image of America.
First, lets get a little background on these two scumbags (purely MY opinion; McClatchy did not weigh in on this description).
John Yoo – (AKA Bamboo Yoo)
A professor of Law at The University of California, Berkley, Bamboo Yoo is best known for his stint in the U.S. IN – Justice Department’s Office of Legal Council while assisting the Attorney General to give IL – Legal advice to the President (Yes, Bushie) from 2001 – 2003.
After he left the Department of IN – Justice, we learned that Yoo authored memos, including co-authoring the Bybee memo defining torture and American habeas corpus obligations narrowly. The memos, known today as the “torture memos,” advocate enhanced interrogation techniques, while pointing out that refuting the Geneva Conventions would reduce the possibility indivuals face future prosecution under the US War Crimes Act of 1996 for actions taken in the War on Terror.
This is where the Imperial Presidency got it’s beginning. Bushie loved this guy!!
In addition, a new definition of torture was issued. Most actions that fall under the international definition do not fall within this new definition advocated by the U.S. Top military lawyers, including Alberto J. Mora, reported that policies allowing methods equivalent to torture were officially handed down from the highest levels of the administration (see Cheney, VLAD and Bush, Bimbo), and led an effort within the Department of Defence to put a stop to those policies and instead mandate non-coercive interrogation standards. But, Mr. Mora didn’t succeed, because Vlad and Bimbo loved ’em some “enhanced interrogation torture techniques.”
Since he left the Department of In – Justice in 2003, after his return to Cal-Berkley, student protesters at Berkeley have demanded, that he renounce the memos or resign his professorship. However, being a Wingnut Neo-Con, he of course would never ADMIT to having done anything wrong (without the bamboo treatment, of course) and he has thumbed his nose at his detractors ever since.
On to our Not-Friend David Addington (AKA Scooter Two).
This scum-sucking-triple-asswipe of a human being is currently occupying Scooter’s previous job of Chief of Staff to VP Vlad Cheney and was a former legal council to teh Vice Vampire prior to Scooter-boy being convicted of LYING (OMG! A Republican? Lie? NOOOOOOoooooooo!!).
Addington was previously assistant general council for the CIA and an assistant to then Congressman Cheney during the heady days of the Iran-Contra scandal. Addington is also the Main, Number 1 Cheerleader for the idea that the President has Unlimited Powers as our Lying-Cheating-Murdering-Commander-in-Chief during wartime.
Ok, enough with the niceties. On to what McClatchy (whose Service Mark is “Truth to Power”) has to say about these two

UPDATE: Supreme Court to Rule on Handgun Ban in D.C. w/Poll
The Supreme Court of the United States of America will be issuing a ruling from the bench today regarding a 32 year old law that bans handguns in Washington, District of Columbia.
Yesterday, John Roberts & the Supremes issued a ruling regarding Capitol Punishment where they found, once again by the magic number of 5 – 4, that Capitol Punishment was only to be used in cases of murder and not for cases of rape or rape of a child.
Of course, the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse (John Robert, Clarence Thomas, Vlad Scalia and Samuel Alito) all wanted to expand the ruling regarding Capitol Punishment but were held at bay by the more thoughtful members of the Supreme’s.
Much Wingnut gnashing of the teeth, pulling of the hair and wailing of the in-lockstep voice of the Right Wing could be seen and heard directly after this ruling.
I must admit, I do get a slight kick out of watching and listening to the Right Wing extremists when they get told they can’t go forward and do what they want to do! It’s like witnessing a mass group of 5 year olds being told they have to take a nap before they can eat their cupcakes! Quite noisy and somehow hilarious!

More People Living Out of Their Cars – Welcome to Bush’s Vision of America
The economy sucks! Yes, we are in a recession! No, the fundamentals DO NOT look good for the economy to bounce back later this year (as per Bumbling Ben Bernanke).
As people over the past few years have lost their employment and due to that lack of income have also lost their homes, they have taken to moving into their cars, vans, RV’s, mobile camper trailers and anything up to and including a nicely appointed cardboard box.
Yes. Even a person now living in their Camper-Van is not considered to be Homeless. Their mobile vehicle is now considered to be a home. Only in George W. Bushs’ America.
In George W. Bushs’ vision of America, this is OK. No problem. Business as usual, you know. We have the “HAVES” and the “HAVE NOTS” and never the twain shall meet, right? I mean, they will pull themselves up by their bootstraps if they REALLY want to re-join regular society. Right? (Insert much foul language directed at Neo-Con’s here).

Do you know how much courage it takes to join the military after the events of September 11, 2001 have affected you and your patriotic feelings to HELP any way you can the country you love, then ship out to Iraq, work your way to the rank of Sergeant, find out that both yourself and your comrades in arms come to learn that this war you are fighting with your life on the line to be nothing more than contrived BullShit, then come home (thankfully not in a coffin that Americans can’t see on TV) and then be told you have to go back?
I sure as hell don’t! I have absolutely NO Friggin’ Idea what that would be like.

Media Bias? NPR = National Progressive Radio? Well, that’s what I heard!
We continue to hear from the strains of Right Wing Hate Radio programming to the musings in conservative rags such as the Washington Times that the media has a Liberal Bias to the stories they cover.
The Neo-Con’s whine and cry and complain that the New York Times (to a conservative, synonymous with George Soros’ personal newspaper), CNN, The Washington Post, USA Today, BBC News, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and on and on, are nothing more than the mouthpieces of the dangerous liberal movement in our country! The Wingnut set decries these media outlets for only giving us one side, TEH LIBERAL SIDE, of any story.
Still rolling on here in our quest to find the liberal bias in the so-called Liberal Media outlets. We’ve been to The Peoples Republic of CNN, we have viewed the writings in The George Soros New York Times and lastly we sailed across the great Atlantic divide to take on the DNC-BBC right there in jolly-old-England.
So far, ….nothing! Not unlike weapons of mass destrcution in Iraq, no liberal bias was found. How can that be?!?
Today we will go where NO KONSERVATIVE has gone before and have a look at the most hated of Liberal News Outlets, NPR (aka National Public Progressive Radio).
The wingers hate this news outlet more than any other, due to the fact that not only does some of THEIR tax money go into paying for NPR, but NPR to them is the one place on radio that everyone can access talk radio without having to listenen to Right Wing Hate Radio. It really pisses them off!

The Neo-Con’s whine and cry and complain that the New York Times (to a conservative, synonymous with George Soros’ personal newspaper), CNN, The Washington Post, USA Today, BBC News, NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC and on and on, are nothing more than the mouthpieces of the dangerous liberal movement in our country! The Wingnut set decries these media outlets for only giving us one side, TEH LIBERAL SIDE, of any story.
I say, Old Dharmite Chaps! The blokes on this side of the Pond commonly referred to as Wingnuts do so hate many things that are not of US origin. Like, anything French. We all remember the silliness of Representative Walter Jones (NC-03) and the FREEDOM FRIES! don’t we?
Well, one other thing they hate, hate, hate (have you ever noticed that wingnuts do a lot of hating) is any MEDIA from Over There that actually tells the truth. Their favourite media outlet to hate on then would be the so VERY LIBERAL DNC-BBC!
Yes, even though you may not have known this little tidbit of information, we have been told that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) actually has a pipeline directly to the BBC which colours all of the so-called NEWS broadcast by the BBC.
This of course makes the DNC-BBC part of the hated Liberal Media!

New Fox Sitcom! Everybody Loves Bush!
Well, our least favorite President of all time and forevah, George W. Bush blew into Rome, Italy yesterday to be greeted by adoring fans and happy little Italian warmongers.
The President, who may not be particularly popular here in the United States of America packs him some serious WOW! power over in the “Old Country” across the pond. Even the Pope was shaking his BUSH – ONE MORE TERM! pom-pom’s as Airforce One touched down on Italian soil.
OK. Now that the dream sequence is over for the opening show of our new Fox Sitcom, let’s discuss what really greeted our Cowboy-In-Chief when Air Force One touched down on Italian soil.
