Are you breathing? The US Armed Forces wants YOU!
Up yours, America!
Remember when the Chicken Hawks thought this image was SO cool?
That was because they understood the idea of hiding from anything more dangerous than a Cheeto was really important, and they needed someone else to do what they would not, could not and never would.

Tearing down the Republican-Neo-Conservative movement in America
In keeping with the need for a “true” change of course in our ridiculous candidate wars instead of focusing on defeating the Republicans in 2008, I wrote something that I posted at Orange just now, and I wanted to replicate it here, just for the sake of discussion.
Is this on the right track, and is the wording something we can use a primer to begin the end of the HATE HILLARY, HATE BARACK wars and begin the true battle against the Republicans and John McCain?
See below if you are interested.

The Bank of England is now propping up THEIR credit crisis, too.
The Bank of England has announced a £50 billion plan to help prevent the ongoing credit crisis that has seemingly gone world-wide since the problems became evident in the USA.
£50 billion is $99.82 billion in US Dollars. That is a lot of money and shows that the underlying fundamentals of the world markets are, unlike what the Bush administration tells us, becoming more and more shakey by the day.
From BBC:
Banks will be able to swap potentially risky mortgage debts for secure government bonds to enable them to operate during the credit squeeze.
The Bank’s governor, Mervyn King, said the scheme aimed to improve liquidity in the banking system.
It should also increase confidence in financial markets, he added.
Under the scheme, banks will be allowed to swap their “high quality” mortgage debts for government securities.
The British Government is allowing banks to exchange mortgage debt for Government backed bonds. Sounds like another bail-out at tax payers expense, wouldn’t you say? Only, once again, the tax-payers aren’t the ones getting bailed out.

Who could have predicted that the Iraqi’s would RESIST, Mr. Bush?
The candy and flowers that you envisioned, thrown at your feet as you walked through the streets of Baghdad as the Savior of the Middle East and the Man your Daddy never thought would amount to anything has turned to shit and dead bodies thrown at your feet, you incompetent dolt.
Not only did you turn the tide from fighting the REAL terrorists in the War against Terror, you decided you were such a damned fine cowboy that you could pull our troops and fight the War for Oil instead.
Incompetence be thy name.
Not only did you screw the pooch by your warmongering, balls to the wall (not your balls, of course) ridiculous attempt to make YOURSELF look like the bestest President since Abraham Lincoln, you bought into the lies and spin that was placed in front of you on a Silver Platter by the boot-licking-psychotic-thinking cronies that had your ear.
Arrogance be thy name.

US Senate to defy Rules of Gravity! Spitting Into the Wind now OK! UPDATED
The US Senate has been quite complacent lo these past couple of years since the Democrats took over the Leadership(?) of the Senate. FISA? check.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards a terrorist organization? check.
No Change of Course in Iraq? check
Impeachment of Officials for lies, torture, myriad other illegal dealings? No Check Here
Today, the US Senate may (note the word MAY) look to request a Federal Investigation into the changing of wording regarding an earmark installed into a 2005 Highway Funding bill, after the bill had been passed and before it was sent to President Bush.
From CNN:
The Senate may seek a federal investigation into a 2005 earmark on a highway funding bill that was mysteriously altered after Congress approved the measure but before President Bush signed it.

Republic’s Patron Saint McSame to offer more of the Same
Well, Saint McSame has some good news and some bad news for Americans. I would love to do a “first the good news and then the bad news” sort of diary, but with McSame, it is all bad news for those of us that pay attention to current events once again.
From CNN:
An end to earmarks, a gas-tax holiday, government-backed mortgages — they’re all part of GOP Sen. John McCain’s “big and ambitious” plan to revive a flailing economy, a top aide said Tuesday.
OK. Big and ambitious usually means someone is making money, and that someone isn’t you or me. Hmmmmmmm. Could it be Corporations again? You make the call.
The senator from Arizona is proposing an income tax system that offers two basic rates and a “generous standard deduction,” according to his prepared remarks. McCain is proposing letting Americans choose between the new system and the present one.
“Americans do not resent paying their rightful share of taxes — what they do resent is being subjected to thousands of pages of needless and often irrational rules and demands” from the Internal Revenue Service, he will say. “We are going to create a new and simpler tax system — and give the American people a choice.”
The presidential candidate also will call for doubling the federal income tax for dependents, from $3,500 to $7,000.

France urging EU countries for a global initiative on food security
Biofuels are of increasing interest as an alternative to fossil fuels. This pure image allows industry, politicians, the World Bank, the United Nations and even the International Panel on Climate Change to present fuels made from corn, sugarcane, soy and other crops as the next step in a smooth transition from oil to a not yet defined renewable fuel economy. But, at what price?
From BBC News:
Agriculture minister Michel Barnier said Europe could not remain passive and leave the situation to the markets.
He said producing biofuels, a key part of the EU’s plans to tackle climate change, was a “crime against humanity”.

Well, No Kidding?
More than 80 percent of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, the highest such number since the early 1990s, according to a new survey.
This according to a CBS – New York Times poll released yesterday (Thursday).
No shit? Maybe we have been Yelling Loud Enough! Somebody is listening.
The people of this country ARE really beginning to pay attention and it couldn’t come at a better time!
With national elections only 7 months away, the wheels are falling off the Republican propaganda wagon at a good time for Americans. Yes, even the Republican-Americans that don’t even realize it.
From CNN:
The CBS News-New York Times poll released Thursday showed 81 percent of respondents said they believed “things have pretty seriously gotten off on the wrong track.” That was up from 69 percent a year ago, and 35 percent in early 2002.
To borrow from Ricky Ricardo, “Bushie, you’ve got some ‘splaining to do.” Yet, I don’t think anyone is listening anymore, Bushie.
No, not even to the “FEAR, BE AFRAID, TERRAHRISTS IN YOUR CORN FLAKES,” or even the old standby of “the decisive ideological struggle of the 21st century” distortion of world policies that Bush wants to sell to you and I.
His continuous insult to over a billion Muslims around the world by repeatedly speaking of Islam, fascism and terror in the same breath is only upstaged by his domestic slash and burn policies that are beginning to weigh down so hard on the entire population of the United States that even the most staunch of his backers are now backing away.
The only ideological struggle we are having in this 21st century is neo-con greed vs. the good of the people.

They say that Sex Sells… We have another buyer!
In the last couple of years, money and power sure have translated into sex when it comes to our National Political and Religious figures.
First we had Mark (Underage Page) Foley. I don’t know if he paid anyone anything, but it was certainly his undoing in the end. He turned the page on his Congressional career, so to speak.
Next up? President Bush’s spiritual advisor, Reverend Ted Haggard.
While serving as President of the National Association of Evangelicals, Ted was outed by a male prostitute for snorting meth and having gay sex. Ted then resigned his “position” as we all know.
After spending time in teh Gay-hab, three weeks of intensive counseling, the Rev. declared that he was now completely hetrosexual. The team working those three weeks with Haggard are not unlike Professional Golfers. Those guys are GOOD!

My Cats have me Hostage. Please Help!
I’ve been taken hostage by cats.
Yes, the Six Ragdoll cats own me and they are FRIGGIN’ serious this time, OK?
They have demands. I need help, if I am to get out to make more money to buy them food.
They call my house KITMO.
They insist I work each day and bring home the groceries, as long as the groceries don’t include fruit or vegies.
They want you to send money too, or volunteer at your local animal shelter, or they will continue making me go to work each day and bring home the groceries (did I mention that they won’t allow fruit or vegies)?
It is spring, so lots of new kittens and puppies will be finding their way into a local Animal Shelter near you. If you can, please donate some kitten, puppy, cat or dog food, or your time to your local shelter.

It’s getting scary for Americans. From $70K to assistance from the food bank
I know that our fine, upstanding, Corporation assisting Bush Administration is assuring us that this whole credit / housing market mess is just a “blip” on the US economic screen, and that all the “indicators” still project a strong economy, but Americans just don’t seem to be feeling it.
From CNN:
When she was laid off in February, Patricia Guerrero was making $70,000 a year. Weeks later, with bills piling up and in need of food for her family, this middle-class mother did something she never thought she would do: She went to a food bank.

Credit Crunch is getting deeper in US
I was doing my usual perusing of the foreign newspaper and media websites (this is how I get the real news without that well known BushCo bias) and I came across an article at BBC.co.uk that caught my attention.
The credit crunch has hit the US economy hard. From Wall Street to Main Street, loans that looked rock-solid a year ago now look shaky.
And the US central bank, the Federal Reserve, is throwing away the rule book to contain the effects.
My emphasis.
That is a pretty strong statement. The Federal Reserve is Throwing Away The Rule Book to contain the effects.
There is more.
