Fighting the Continued War on the Homefront
Forced to clean up what was left and wasn’t even considered as we sent our soldiers, not into one more failed policy War and long Occupation of others but a second one as well, both still ongoing, both still creating soldiers and veterans, as well as families of, who are owed, more then any previous as they serve in both theaters and multiple tours, adding to all those that preceded and the numbers grow even as us older vets pass on, some getting the help some not and being fought for every step of the way!

Gulf War Syndrome
Real Good News for Our Brother and Sister Veterans of Gulf War I, who like those who served with us in Vietnam, and many before that and after, the Country once again turned their backs and ignored after they returned, will hopefully get what the Country Promises for Service To. Trouble is, again, it’s way to late for those who have already passed on. For us it was Agent Orange and the other defoliants used, Vietnamese and Vets are still suffering from the lasting contamination, as well as PTSD, suffered in great numbers by those who serve especially in our occupations of others. The Country Cheers on War and the funding for but refuses to pony up for the long lasting results of many who are sent!

Know those you call ‘enemy’, in their own land!
Many today may disagree as many did back in our failed policy occupation, Vietnam, but one of the main lessons many of us did learn is to respect those fighting you, as we occupied, and what they will do and bring at you in the battles of Guerilla War, in their land. For a soldier trains to be a warrior to defend his country and you’re fighting warriors defending their country!

Don’t Close Gitmo? Don’t Prosecute in U.S. Courts? Don’t Hold in U.S. Prisons if Guilty?
That’s what we hear from many, most on a certain side of the political spectrum in this country as to those being held in the Guantanamo Prison. This is only one of the recruiting tools, there are now many, used by the criminal element known as ‘terrorist’ and for probably more then one group but the best known is the ghost enemy al Qaeda.
Most held for years in Gitmo have been released, this after renditions and imprisonment in secret prisons as well as Gitmo, many tortured during their captivity under the guise of seeking intelligence on the criminal terrorist element that knows no borders nor just one nation state.
Why is it we don’t hear anything from those same voices of so called defenders of this Country as to the War Criminals: The Monster Next Door? There is one well known ‘terrorist’ and living in this country for decades, more on him after the recent report as to the previous subject title.

Son Speaks Out {UpDated w/Video and 2nd and 3rd UpDate}
Added: There have been a couple of mentions in the replies, in the KOS diary, about naming a building in Honor to Vernon, my thoughts are with those thinking and voicing that! Wherever they reopen the IRS building in Austin that’s what should happen, and instead of in a leased space the Government should build that building!! So any possible Government folks or media types who just happen to click on this diary, How About It!!
Second thought on a building. The WWII, Korean and especially the brother ‘Nam Vets have been asking for a VA Hospital, not clinic, in the Rio Grande Valley for decades, that call has been refreshed by the OEF and OIF Veterans recently, not to slight the IRS workers but I think this would be a Perfect Honor for our Fallen Brother!
This is going to be short, but I need to say a few things about recent tragic event as we find out about a lost brother!

UpDating On The Iraq War Inquiries
I have been trying to post up, as time permits and doing other issues, on the Inquiries, and related, especially as the number grew as well as the possibilities of more coming. Have them at a stand alone site here if interested.
Staying on: The last Brits in Iraq
13 February 2010
Most people think Britain’s military involvement in Iraq is over. But for the forgotten Royal Navy and Royal Marine teams that remain in the country, the truth is very different indeed
Royal Marine Danny Cole, of the Iraqi Training Advisory Mission at Umm Qasr, reflects: ‘It is sad to think that the rest of the world doesn’t even know that we are here’
His forehead furrowed with concentration, Sajad grips the wheel of the Defender twin-engined boat as he spins it into a perfectly executed turn at speed, sending out a swell of seawater and spray. Triumphantly, he looks to his boyhood friend from Basra, equally resplendent in his new Iraqi Navy uniform, and the pair share the laugh of lads who have just discovered an exciting toy. >>>>>

Guantanamo Torture Document {UpDated}
The following is just coming across the wires here. This is about an ongoing battle to get top secret records on the torture of prisoners at Gitmo and probably other secret jails that were used as we were grabbing so called terrorists all over and most not caught on some “in theater battle field”.
This is just on one British citizen who was Ethiopian born and grabbed in 2002 in Pakistan, not Afghanistan nor Iraq. And this is only seven short paragraphs on his, Binyam Mohamed’s, treatment while in U.S. custody and incommunicado with anyone thousands of miles from home and family.

“Black Hearts:”
A two part series, from Time magazine, of a total breakdown of a platoon and especially one soldier’s descent into madness in Iraq. The leadership vacuum, moral and the chain of command not recognizing what was happening. {I added ‘abeers’ photo’s}
I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more about this book in the coming weeks!
