howl
howl
do you know how
put your head back
take in a deep breath
and just ow ooooooowwwwwwww
from your gut
… your lungs
from where your soul sits
hear it sing its sadness and light
its joy and confusion
reverberate with the sound of yourself
it isn’t words
but feeling
and knowing
it is inside you
howl
i had a friend, a dog i loved
he taught me how to howl
and every once-in-a-while
he’d sit and i’d kneel
and we’d start to howl
we’d be free then
unbound
Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens.

Glenn Greenwald pisses me off, too
Look. I’m only a screen name, visceral in nature. Yet, experience does creep in and informs my mainly emotional outbursts. From where I sit, in the cheap seats… the nose bleed section… Glenn Greenwald misses the essential problem in our government: it’s all an act.

i’ll get hammered for this essay. so be it.
i don’t have ideas that fit easily into “progressive” or “liberal” or “conservative” or even “moderate”. or so i’ve been told. but i just have this crazy idea about freedom…

The Fight For America: Make it Personal
I’d been away for a while. Offline and watching television and listening to Hillary and Barack. Bleech. And, oh my good god, Bill Clinton has become a political hack. Dennis seems to have disappeared. But it’s hard to miss the American economy’s free-fall.
Tell me something. If I was waiting for the bear and you all were waiting for the bear, how is it that candidates (except John Edwards), Congress, and MSM blowhards seemed to have little concern about this clear and looming economic middle class disaster? Katrina-like in its scope, isn’t it? Well, it’s been my story now for the past 18 months: Democrats are complicit in the rape of the American middle class. Face it. And we citizens are the ones who need to deal with it.
I have a suggestion. Read or reread “Common Sense.” That’s what I’m doing. Because we need to get ourselves in a mind set, build a frame work, for going forward.
We have a heritage here. A history. It is clear. What we need to win is not a seat for a Democrat in the White House, but an awakening of Americans and their stake in America.

Settle for “lesser of two evils”? Huh. No fucking way.

Pony Party… Bye Bye Bear
my boy died this morning. he was a sweet soul. kind. abiding the silliness of us humans.
mae west in drag.
bouncing dog. always wanting food. was known to raid the kitty litter.
kind. really kind. gentle. funny. he loved me. i loved him.
strange. how it happened. last night at my aunt’s house (we were house sitting), he seemed not to be able to see. and i was down on the floor with him, trying to understand what had happened… that it had happened. the seizure was next. i found the animal hospital… we did xrays and full blood screen. nothing detectable, except he had no platelets… not good. not good at all. i left him there at 3am, sedated. i got up at 6:30am and he had done well the tech said over the phone. i was getting ready to leave and not five minutes later the vet called and said i should hurry… he had taken a turn for the worse.
he was gone when i got there. i wanted to be with him when he left this life. i went over to him on the steel table. they had covered him. and he looked peaceful… they said he went easy. and i was so grateful for that. but i wanted more time. i didn’t see this coming. and now he’s gone.
he saved me so many times. my humanity. my sense of humor. my sense of belonging. there is something eternal in the love of a dog. life makes sense next to them.
i miss him. i came back home. i had to. but it’s so quiet… so still.
i love you Bear. Bear-Lo. Smuppy. Silly dog. Sweet dog.
The sun came out and it’s a bright day this day. Like when the cosmos gets back a really really special soul… it can’t help but to light up.

Is prejudice and discrimination wrong?
I’m going to use one example for this argument. Kids competing to get into college. But first, let me say a few general things.
It seems to me that (and my POV only):
1. Many of us talk about discrimination/prejudice in a way the precludes honest personal feelings filtering into the conversation. We prefer a more clinical and abstract approach, imo.
2. Many of us judge others to be wrong if they do discriminate or are prejudice and refuse to give them credibility for their feelings/behaviors. Some of us think this is about right/wrong but ethics evolve… people don’t own forced thinking/behavior. They need to evolve into it. In the larger sense, humans engage in objectifying others for what I can only imagine as their perception of survival.
3. Many of us think discrimination/prejudice is only one-way and
4. It’s okay for some of us to call human beings rethugs and wingnuts with as much venom as one can spew the word nigger
5. I’m gonna get hammered for this, but I’m tired of talking about this with gloves on. It’s gloves off

The Problem: NOT shuck and jive
Language is an indicator of what people think… how they think. And some small insight into the strategies they use for living next to, working with, and sharing a country, a continent, and planet with all other creatures. Jumping all over them for exposing their thinking is, imo, the wrong thing.
