Obama on Marijuana
On the issue of medicinal marijuana, Obama said that if the “best way to relieve pain and suffering is through medicinal marijuana,” then it’s something he’s open to.

Not too swift, Obama, but, in our drug-crazed country, truly enlightened.
Curiously the New York Times only reported that Obama was against legalization and admitted he had inhaled (unlike Bill Clinton).
Pure madness. There is a tiny list of people who are allowed to have marijuana but no one is allowed to sell it to them. The first person that finally got on the list had glaucoma. He had a choice between breaking the law and going blind. The lawbreaker had been arrested numerous times. Pain in suffering is hardly the only medicinal effect of marijuana. I believe it has been approved for multiple sclerosis sufferers to help with tremors. In cancer patients, it not only helps with nausea but increases the appetite.

Room of Doom
I passed by that Room of Doom every day for two weeks when I was working at an odd job between classes.
It was a terrible place but when I first went by I had no reason to know the terror lurking within.
Parents brought their children to that room. The children had received a death sentence that no lawyer could mitigate. The children had received a diagnosis of juvenile leukemia. There was no cure, not even a treatment. All that waited for the children was an early painful death.

The Paiute Way To Cheap Green Energy
Don’t hear much about Paiutes. At least I don’t. Then again my hearing isn’t so hot. All I know about the Northern Paiutes or Snake Indians is that as warriors they were a match for the Apaches and lived large in high desert country where the Apaches might have starved.
I know a little bit about that because I was born in Adel, OR, named for somebody’s sweetheart or a cow. Nobody knows which. Here is a picture of the whole damn town. I suspect there were a lot more Paiutes living in Adel than later invaders.

Cowbody Environmentalism Is For Sissies
Let me say it straight out. I am not real hot on gentlemen farmers who prefer others get their hands dirty while they look at Norman Rockwell paintings on their walls of a time that never was. A time when happy cows frolicked in green meadows and happily gave their milk to tiny infants and playful children.
Such folks probably never milked a cow nor smelled much of the other stuff that cows produce. Norman Rockwell himself was a strangely cynical illusionist who would have shocked the pants off the 1950’s puritans if they knew he had used his mistress in his Saturday Evening Post covers.

Geothermal Power Is Just Regional As You Know
Like New Hampshire for instance. And Texas.
The region where geothermal power might be developed is Earth. Not much chance on cold planets and other heavenly bodies.
I have generally found heavenly bodies cold as ice but that is personal. Environmentalists generally seem to have the same problem.

Yotta Joules Is A Lotta Joules
You can’t really blame George Bush. There are more zeroes in a yotta than George Bush or even Al Gore has fingers and toes. There might be many in Gore’s Tennessee that have sufficient fingers and toes, according to unverified reports, but evem those so blessed have perhaps gotten to wearing shoes which would greatly hamper their math abilities.
You see yotta is the number of joules of dependable, steady electric power that might theoretically be produced from Mother Earth’s own nuclear power plant in the crust of the earth. That is according to the calculations of MIT’s Professor Jon Tester and his panel of experts. Mother’s own heat might be mined without pollution of the atmosphere and poisoning of the earth for eons or a boon to nuclear bombers.
