Arizona: Neo Nazis Patrol Border

( – promoted by buhdydharma )

Is it chickens or is it eggs?  Is it that Governor Brewer’s immigration extremism gives cover to Nazis?  Or is it that Neo Nazis give cover to the ugliness that is SB 1070? Is it that Joe Apraio was thought to be as extreme as anyone could be, but people have emerged in Arizona who are even further beyond the Pale?

Is Arizona a Petry Dish from growing more and more virulent forms of extremism?  You pick.

This from AP:

Minutemen groups, a surge in Border Patrol agents, and a tough new immigration law aren’t enough for a reputed neo-Nazi who’s now leading a militia in the Arizona desert.

Jason “J.T.” Ready is taking matters into his own hands, declaring war on “narco-terrorists” and keeping an eye out for illegal immigrants….

But local law enforcement are nervous given that Ready’s group is heavily armed and identifies with the National Socialist Movement, an organization that believes only non-Jewish, white heterosexuals should be American citizens and that everyone who isn’t white should leave the country “peacefully or by force.”…snip

But Ready, a 37-year-old ex-Marine, ,,, and his friends are outfitted with military fatigues, body armor and gas masks, and carry assault rifles. Ready takes offense at the term “neo-Nazi,” but admits he identifies with the National Socialist Movement.

“These are explicit Nazis,” said Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Intelligence Project. “These are people who wear swastikas on their sleeves.”

And so, today, running around in the desert where it’s dangerously hot are a bunch of heavily armed Nazis.  And Sheriff Arpaio continues to humiliate immigrants while failing to prevent crime.  And the Governor of Arizona continues to insist that SB1070 is not preempted.  And not racist. And a waste of money.

Arizona is a hot, dry Petry Dish for growing extremism.

My revulsion overflows.  I’m not advocating violence.  I’m just noticing the strong, negative feelings all of these creeps evoke.  I hope that the people of Arizona will find a way to be free of these demagogues.

  1. Thanks for reading.

  2. …these images may be hazardous to one’s health:

    jt ready

    militia with swastikas

  3. I was reading earlier today that so far this month, 40 bodies have been brought to the morgue from the desert.

This is the highest number for July since they`ve been recording these deaths, & also for any year, since Jan.1st.

Because of heavier enforcement, the crossers are forced to go through much more remote areas of desert to cross making it much more dangerous.

I have to point out also that these are just recovered bodies.

Who knows how many are lost souls out there.

They have so many bodies at the morgue, that they`ve had to bring in refrigerated trucks to hold the bodies.

  4. that this is for Arizona.

They also have emergency stations out in the desert where if in distress, you can push a button to summon help.

I hope the SS don`t disable those possible life-saving stations.

  5. Where is the financing coming from to support these goons?  How many of us could afford to take off work and spend our summer near the Mexican border, hunting humans?

When we consider the most vivid example of Nazis taking control of a country (i.e., World War II Germany), they were not satisfied with controlling that country alone.  If no one were to stop them, where would this all end?  If they can recruit enough new killers (perhaps disillusioned, long-term unemployed), would they have any qualms about taking over your town, city, county or state?

So, we send our state national guard members to Iraq and Afghanistan to wage a war of choice, and ignore the nascent rumblings of a war on our own soil here at home?

As our elected representatives, ever fearful of having their name associated with anything but a tax cut, reduce the size of our police forces, making us even more vulnerable to takeover by splinter militant factions, we become even more vulnerable to incipient anarchy and/or control of ever larger areas of our country under extremist groups.

If we continue down our current path for long enough, we need only consider what life is like in other countries where the law is enforced by whatever group has the most guns.

Despite our knee-jerk tendency to deny that something like that could happen here, we can’t say we haven’t been warned.
