A lot of people misunderstand me and my positions and I see that happening with Jane Hamsher. I called her a sellout to her face on her own blog when she backed off the Strong (Medicare +5%) Public Option, but the position she’s taking with Grover “Drown Government in a Bathtub” Norquist is the exact opposite of a sellout and I feel compelled to offer a public defense.
In case you hadn’t noticed the big news this week, the ultimate Friday News Dump Black Hole, is that Barack Obama, Rahm Emanuel, Timothy Geithner, and Larry Summers have decided, without Congressional Approval, to give Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac not just 800 BILLION but AN UNLIMITED DRAW ON THE EXCHEQUER OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (those big, hi-falutin’ words Caribou Barbie mean basically every tax payin’, gun totin’, freedom luvin’, snow machine drivin’ ‘murican) so they can re-inflate the housing bubble.
Now I personally don’t own a house, but I know those that do and even they should be dismayed. Bailing out Banksters doesn’t create a single job.
And as it turns out Rahm Emanuel is in fact the figure that Tea Bagger Americans have accused Barney Frank of being (though he’s not openly homosexual as far as I know).
So Jane and Grover are getting together to call for an investigation.

I have perpetual interests instead of eternal allies, but I don’t want you to sign a petition simply because in my little pond I’m a pretty big fish. As Armando says, I speak only for myself.
It’s a decision you should come to on your own.

I’ll also note that despite my public call out Jane has never banned me, which can not be said of some other prominent bloggers whose egos are bigger and skins thinner.

I’d look into it further.
It flows along smoothly enough asking for an investigation and then they toss that big old railroad spike into the gears.
Appeals for that should come after an investigation.
plus that I think that part of the right-leaning, corporatist Obama agenda is Rahm Emanuel’s agenda, I signed that petition the first day,
I have negotiated, and actually made alliances, with the “enemy”. In Banda Ache it was the rebels. In Gaza, well that totally depended whose side you were on in that fight. In Afghanistan, It is the tribal lords.
Sometimes, when you stop “screaming” at each other, you find out that there are things you agree on. Maybe not for the same reasons but essentially the same end. In my case it was saving lives, anyones. In Jane’s it’s getting a progressive agenda moving again by removing a big obstacle, Rahm Emanuel. Heh and maybe even saving lives, if you think about it.
….the main intention of the Obama presidency so far is to secure corporate campaign donations for Obama and the Dems for 2010′ & 2012.
This is being done by allowing both Wall St and the Health Insurance Industry to either write legislation or have veto power over aspects they feel will lower their profits.
Rahm is the prime architect of this endeavor. I do favor an investigation into his actions at Fannie & Freddie, perhaps he did violate the law.
I support Hamsher for seeing the need to go “outside of the box” to try and spur real accountability.

Despite the fact that I have been calling for years to shrink Grover till he is small enough to drown in my Grandmother’s silver thimble, I felt the need to investigate Rahm took precedent over squeamishness over Grover. Jane did well in joining with him. A strange coalition, but a good one.
Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, this entire subject–the continuing abuse–makes me sick to my stomach.

Paulson should be thoroughly investigated for his bailout role as should former NY Fed head Geithner. These people don’t even try to hide their identities or acts anymore. They don’t even walk into the bank with a gun and a mask. They just do it publicly in as much darkness as they can find and flaunt their theft of our tax money.

I think I ignored it when it was e-mailed to me, because while I’m on FDL’s mailing list I’m also on every other liberal/leftist mailing list in the galaxy, and I have to dump a lot of e-mail without looking at it. Ironically, I had never paid much attention to Jane Hamsher one way or the other until the Obamapods at the GOS started going into their demon dance over her.
In calling for the investigation of the egregious Rahm Emanuel, both she and Norquist are doing the right thing, and I have no reason not to support both of them on this issue.

When you say England I think of the movie V. Indeed England is the new world order society test vehicle. Surveillance cameras on every street corner, trash Nazis picking through people’s trash bins and prevalent Kafka stories always come out of the British Isle.
