You thought I was not serious?
I’m dead serious. The only way to effect change is through sacrifice (changing your habits) and protest (telling people what you think, publicly).
Plenty of other stuff out on the Hypnotoad. Just look-

Figure Skating Exhibition Repeats 3 & 4 Edition.
Well the Olympics are practically over, yet we have some of the hardest parts left to endure.
Today, from 6 am to noon, MSNBC is airing back to back repeats of the 3 hour Figure Skating Exhibition you’ve already seen live and repeated once already.
Now there are things I’ll watch 4 times, even in a row (Silverado), but Figure Skating ain’t one of them.
Besides, I’m on a Serf Strike.
So if your eyeballs are bleeding and you want some relief, I have alternatives to suggest.
Here’s a list of things (not comprehensive) I think more worthy.
From 6 to 9
4:00 | TNT | Law & Order | 1:00 |
5:00 | AMC | Backlash | 7:00 |
5:00 | TCM | Smilin’ Through | 7:00 |
6:00 | TV Land | Roseanne | 8:00 |
7:00 | A&E | Caddyshack: The Inside Story | 9:00 |
7:00 | AMC | The War Wagon | 9:30 |
7:00 | E! | Keeping Up With the Kardashians | 9:30 |
7:00 | FX | The Practice | 9:00 |
7:00 | MTV | Into the Blue | 9:00 |
7:00 | TCM | Intermezzo: A Love Story | 8:00 |
8:00 | Bravo | The Natural | 11:00 |
8:00 | Comedy | Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd | 10:00 |
8:00 | ABC Family | Legally Blonde | 10:00 |
8:00 | Oxygen | Roseanne | 12:00 |
8:00 | TCM | The Philadelphia Story | 10:00 |
8:00 | TBS | The Wood | 10:00 |
8:00 | Nick | Fairly Odd Parents | 9:00 |
You’re already late for Law & Order. You should stay up later or get up earlier slacker.
It’s technically possible to watch Roseanne from 6 to noon so you shouldn’t need anything else.
TCM’s early morning theme seems to be Leslie Howard. The Natural is a pretty good movie, well worth watching, Dumb and Dumberer on the other hand…
From 9 to noon
9:00 | Nick | Spongebob Squarepants | 10:00 |
9:00 | SciFi | Stephen King’s The Langoliers | 1:00 |
9:00 | Travel | Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations | 4:00 |
9:30 | AMC | Silverado | 12:30 |
10:00 | Comedy | Napolean Dynamite | 12:00 |
10:00 | ABC Family | The Karate Kid | 12:30 |
10:00 | TBS | Head of State | 12:00 |
10:00 | TCM | You Can’t Take It With You | 12:30 |
10:00 | USA | Burn Notice | 11:00 |
10:30 | FX | Assault on Precinct 13 | 1:00 |
11:00 | Bravo | Real Housewives | 12:30 |
11:00 | Disney | Phineas and Ferb | 12:00 |
11:00 | Lifetime | Murder at 75 Birch | 1:00 |
11:00 | TV Land | Bewitched | 2:00 |
11:00 | USA | Law & Order | 11:00 |
Well, we’ll see Karate Kid Parts 1, 2, 3, and The Next Karate Kid. That’s 10 hours of Karate. Mr. Miagi stays the same, in the last one Hilary Swank takes over from Ralph Macchio.
I’m a big fan of Chris Rock, I think he should be the John Stewart Green Lantern but I haven’t seen him in Head so I couldn’t tell you.
You Can’t is iconic, a staple of theater groups everywhere. Evil Anna Sheridan. Another remake of a much better 1976 film. Langoliers Parts 1 & 2. 12 Hours of SVU.
Our old friend Silverado and Elizabeth Montgomery. I wonder which Darrin she’ll have.
Baxter! Hawley! Where the hell’ve you been? You’re late and I tell you, I don’t like it. It’s a bad start, boys. I got my people down there throwin’ snowballs and rarin’ to go.
I’m afraid it is a bad start, friend, ’cause my name ain’t Baxter, he ain’t Hawley.
You’re not Baxter?
Name’s Emmett.
You’re not Baxter either?
No, I’m not Hawley.
I’ll be back at noon with a fresh essay to cover Men’s 50k Cross Country (12 – 3), Men’s Hockey Final (3 – 6), Closing Ceremony and Recap (7 – 11), and the repeat of the Closing Ceremony and Recap (11:30 – 3).
TheMomCat will be covering Weekend News Digest today and Afternoon Edition tomorrow. I expect I’ll post my own Meta Recap of February Sports Blogging on DocuDharma, but probably not until Tuesday or Wednesday.
All of these are far more worth your eyeballs than NBC and its horrible coverage.
This isn’t even political, except for the lesson in activism.
Am I serious?
Dead serious.

Oh Rose, have something to eat.
Two hundred thousand years in the future he’s dying, and there’s nothing I can do.
Well, like you said, two hundred thousand years, it’s way off!
But it’s not! It’s now. That fight is happening right now! And he’s fighting for us, for the whole planet, and I’m just sitting here eating chips!
Listen to me! God knows I have hated that man, but right now I love him, and do you know why? Cause he did the right thing, he sent you back to me!
But what do I do every day, Mum? What do I do? Get up, catch the bus, go to work, come back home, eat chips and go to bed, is that it?!
It’s what the rest of us do.
But I can’t!
Why, cause you’re better than us??
NO, I didn’t mean that! I just… But it was. It was a better life!
And I don’t mean all the travelling, and seeing aliens and spaceships and things, that don’t matter.
The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life. You know, he showed you too!
That you don’t just give up! You don’t just let things happen!
You make a stand, you say no, you have the guts to do what’s right when everyone else just runs away.
I want to make it very clear that you can use this thread to talk about the Olympics all you like.
I will be watching something else.
And you’re perfectly free to post your own essay, I might even promote it.
But to those who say that it doesn’t matter, that now that NBC has its advertisers ratings mean nothing, you couldn’t be more wrong. They have guaranteed those advertisers a certain number of eyeballs and if NBC doesn’t make their numbers they have to give their sponsors free advertising until they do.
You have power. You just have to have the willpower to use it.
