Jeff will be analyzing the dismissal of General McChrystal and the replacement with General Petraeus and its possible portends for our theater in Afghanistan. He will also try and shed light on the Naval escalation in the Red Sea, as we join Israel in threatening Iran.

Time permitting, an update on the never ending Gulf Disaster will be provided as well.

The human and environmental disasters are in everyone’s hearts and minds right now: From the latest mine collapse, to the eco-disaster unfolding in the Gulf. As we report both of these serious events, we have to ask: The lives of humans, or the life of the Planet itself; is that the price of profit?

Then there is the horrific overt racism in what is known as Arizona’s SB 1070, bound to fail, yet entered into the Public Fray for a purpose. We will be exploring who profited from the passage of this travesty of hate.

There is controversy surrounding immigration in Great Britain as well, with an election changing comment, “bigoted woman” by Gordon Brown. The climate of competition for ever declining resources; resources pillaged by the Rich from the masses, sets an ugly stage for racism and clannishness to raise its ugly head. Is hate the price of profit?

Join us as we report these stories and speak about the underlying thread through every aspect of these catastrophic events ~  while all these stories are real and problematic, they are greatly distracting from the conversation that is their true cause: Financial Reform, here and abroad.

It is the unregulated markets that are causing us to vie worldwide for a diminishing piece of the pie. They continue to plunder recklessly, cut corners for profit, and gamble on our failures; making our livelihoods in danger, our lives at risk, and the destruction of our ecosystem the price we pay.

Will sanity and regulation be forced upon Wall Street, in the face of the obvious fact they knew and intended to profit off of the collapse? Will there be restrictions put in place in the Global Market before utter World Financial calamity ensues?

Welcome to the State of No Dissent in the Land of Discontent.

From “Peace Officers” brutalizing 5 year olds, to so-called “Left bloggers” like dKouchebag Markos Moulitsas attacking Kucinich, we are in a world where advocacy for People’s rights or self-determination is now verboten.

Peaceful protesters from U.C. Davis were beaten and dragged last week, to nary an outcry from the public; a public now inured to being monitored from cradle to grave. We have given up our right to privacy, free speech and that “rugged individualism” in order to have a false sense of security.

This is not entirely a new thing in our history of repression and division, what is new is the conditions under which it takes place. At least 50 million people are ill-fed — up from 37 million just a year ago, and because of the Jim Crow Drug Laws, a black child born today is less likely to be raised by both parents than a black child born during slavery! As the discontent among the oppressed grows, so grows the industry of repression: Tasers, sound cannons, advanced riot-control devices like micro-waves and drones dropping prozac bombs. As the “enemies” (read free-thinkers) rebel, our very educational means are being stripped from us, whole school districts shutting down, teachers fired and students are being economically barred from attending Universities. They want us compliant, dumb and afraid.

Sinclair Lewis said, “When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

We think he is right. Welcome to the Police State.

The numbers are in: Hate groups are on the rise, in frightening numbers, and unsurprisingly, the highest hate-rate is among Christian-identifying Americans.

As the economic collapse continues, it seems Americans again are easily lead to the divide and conquer strategy that always serves the Elite Class: Attacking fellow men who are also struggling, and never blaming the real culprits causing our distress.

The whack-jobs keep shooting, the children protesting are arrested enmasse, and the militias form to fight “immigrants” and people of color.

More frightening yet? Most of them are espousing the government doesn’t “serve them” not because the new-shiny-face-on-the-kleptocracy, Pres. Obama, is continuing the disastrous policies of the Bush Era… they are protesting because they see him as “too liberal.”

We are hoping to have a couple guests to speak to the new stressors being left in the Latino and Black communities, and how those effects can be overcome.

Life under Obama seems to be more of the same….

Marking the start of a new year of shows, we have an intense and exciting show planned for tonight!

The Joe Stack story is a controversial and polarizing story. Terrorist? Criminal? Revolutionary? Do his final words reflect the frustration of a nation, or the petulance of a tax evader? Do the ends ever justify the means?

This cannot be framed without speaking to the recent poll that shows 80% of Americans do not believe that the Federal Government has the consent of the Governed. While the same statistics show those in the government believe they are representing us, the flood of vacated seats belies a discontent bubbling upward to their positions as well.

People are aware the mood on the ground is becoming increasingly ugly, and now the numbers substantiate this. Is this how revolutions begin?

Or will the Revolution be thwarted before it starts? They are again attempting to control our means of communication and organization on the web. The latest? Internet “Driver’s Licenses” that will make anonymity a thing of the past.

Speaking of paranoia, Internationally we’ve got the usually laid back Canadians taking all the fun out of the Winter Games because Osama has reportedly joined the Jamaican bobsled team and is planning to crash his sled into the grandstand of freezing cold people and Countdown to Armageddon as the usual suspects bang the World War Drum for the annihilation of Persia. (Not to say the Government of Iran doesn’t deserve a kick in the ass for crackpot religion and draconian oppression – which we’ll also discuss.)

Which all leads to the inanity and insanity and tragedy of America’s despicable policy of trillions for the military industrial complex and a big fat zero for food on the table, jobs at home, and a future we the people can believe in and support.
