Capitalism and pathocracy: Rule of, by, and for the morally insane.

In its pure, unregulated sense and form, capitalism is the creed and practice of psychopaths, nothing more than a vehicle for the uninhibited expression of psychopathological freedom.  Capitalists, once called “captains of industry,” and more recently known as “masters of the universe” due to malignant effects of their outsized egos on the global population at large, often pretend to adhere to some marginally plausible ethos purely for public relations value, e.g., “bringing cheap energy to market,” or “creating market efficiencies,” to mask and continue their depredations unmolested by the indignant outcries of normal people, in the end, the psychopath simply takes what he wants without any standard feeling of remorse for horrific outcomes.

Sociopaths are “outstanding” members of society in two senses: politically, they command attention because of the inordinate amount of crime they commit, and psychologically, they elicit fascination because most of us cannot fathom the cold, detached way they repeatedly harm and manipulate others.

THE SOCIOBIOLOGY OF SOCIOPATHY: AN INTEGRATED…

Whether criminal or not, sociopaths typically exhibit what is generally considered to be irresponsible and unreliable behavior; their attributes include egocentrism, an inability to form lasting personal commitments and a marked degree of impulsivity. Underlying a superficial veneer of sociability and charm, sociopaths are characterized by a deficit of the social emotions (love, shame, guilt, empathy, and remorse). On the other hand, they are not intellectually handicapped, and are often able to deceive and manipulate others through elaborate scams and ruses including fraud, bigamy, embezzlement, and other crimes which rely on the trust and cooperation of others.  The sociopath is “aware of the discrepancy between his behavior and societal expectations, but he seems to be neither guided by the possibility of such a discrepancy, nor disturbed by its occurrence” (Widom 1976a, p 614). This cold- hearted and selfish approach to human interaction at one time garnered for sociopathy the moniker “moral insanity” (McCord 1983, Davison & Neale

1990).

What makes capitalism an ideal vehicle for the expression of psychopathology is its inclination toward pure profit regardless of external costs, hence its hypertrophic emphasis on unregulated, laissez faire, “let do” behavior.

Insofar as psychopaths and their creed of unfettered capitalism have infested and subverted the very government both regulating them and giving them license to operate, the United States has turned into what some have called a “pathocracy,” the rule of, by, and for the morally insane.

Thoughts On The Universe

A Diary was posted earlier on asking questions on subjects like “What is the Universe?”, etc. My response was a little lengthier than the typical “comment”, so I wanted to reframe the question below.

For awhile…

___

I have actually given this question a bit of thought, and come to reject conventional thinking about the problem, which is why all the so-called accepted answers just lead off into more unresolved questions, and/or reverting to Centuries-old myth-making.

____________

Recall that Albert Einstein proved that Time itself was not linear, but in fact curved and flexible. This makes me think that we have to abandon conventional “linear” thinking about the Universe itself.

Recall also, that matter never disappears..but it is simply transformed into something else. For example, water evaporates and appears to be all gone, but really the matter itself still exists (just in a different form).

So therefore these questions about when did the Universe begin, how was it “created”, and such, are all moot, and not the correct approach to the analysis.

The Universe always was and always will be….only the form is changing, and it is changing constantly, (expansion, contraction, etc.).

The matter will never either go away or be “created”, only the form will change.

As for human beings, we are just one more mutation of matter, and an unpleasant one at that. I think human beings are destined to go the way of the Dinosaur — with all the Wars, the mass-violence, the mass-poverty, and all the Environmental damage borne of our own making.

As comedian George Carlin once said, Planet Earth does not need saving.  Planet Earth is going to be just fine.  It’s human beings that are f**cked.

There is no God.

There is no Universe.

There is no linear Time.

There is no Justice.

There is no Heaven.

There is no “Afterlife”.

There is however an unlimited supply of matter and mutation.

And there surely is Hell, for we see it all around us each and every day

of our tragic lives — and Hell always wins (just ask Dick Cheney, the dead Kennedys, or an oil-soaked pelican).

Now you know the truth, and can put down The Holy Babble, for it is written.

The Questions Vol. 1

We might as well start this new phase from the very beginning, lol. And work our way up and/or down to where these questions will finally lead, to the Human behavior that culminates in what we call politics. These questions of course have no scientifically objective answers, the only answers can be….beliefs. But human beliefs are what shape our world

Some people believe that Freedom, Equality, and Justice for all are the most important things. Others believe that Power, Money, and Control of others are the most important things. These two belief systems are, and always have been the source of all conflict for humans. First in our huts, then our villages then our cities our nations and now in the 21st century, on the planetary scale.

So there are no final answers to these questions, no right or wrong answers. The only purpose in asking them is to discuss our beliefs. Because again, those focused beliefs, when acted on, are the basis of all human society.

“What the most people believe” is as close as we can get to something called reality or truth, when it comes to human behavior. As “what the most people believe” changes over time, as it always has…the world changes. And we all want to change the world.

So let’s start at the beginning!

1) What is the Universe?

1a) Is it an “accident?” Just random phenomenon?

1b) Or does it have a purpose? Or if it was just random phenomenon at it’s inception, has a purpose evolved?

2) Supposing it has one, (since if it doesn’t and it is just random phenomenon, there is really no further discussion necessary or possible) what is the purpose of the universe?

The Urban Commune – an idea whose time has come?

On this blog, it is interesting to me that we talk about the environmental problems that face us.  We talk about new structures and new paradigms, and we talk about how to handle certain deep problems facing our society such as transportation — but to me one huge basic answer to all of these questions is the urban commune.

One of the conclusions that has been largely reached by several people on this blog is that the answers, some feel, do not devolve to the traditional issues of national politics.  That, in other words, to really solve the deep systemic problems inherent in the American political system is to address the local issues each of us face.

This is not an either/or — to say that we must address sustainable living and engender a better model for living is not therefore in direct opposition to the ideas involved in how to change our political system for the better.  However, a gradual realization has dawned that there is a yin/yang relationship in terms of top-down political action versus bottom-up action.  If we live in a certain manner as to make our government respond to that way of living, they will.  Most of us work for corporations.  Most of us have interests involved in basic living that are or may be at odds with what we think would be a better model of living for the future.  On the other hand, if our politicians have constituents who have already changed their way of living in some degree — that if they adopt, for example, community living as a way of life without their assistance, it would be more in our politicans interests to cater to those constituencies that have already been pre-created.

It strikes me that we talk very little about the most basic problem facing all of us — that is, how to live in such a way as to weather the crises confronting our society and how to emerge whole.

I have lived, very briefly, on a commune.  It is not my purpose, however, to put myself up as an expert of any kind on this subject.  My experience was long enough to gather and internalize some of the concepts, but short enough that I don’t consider myself well endowed to do anything on the level of proselytizing.

It is more my purpose to open a conversation on this subject.  If we on this blog wish to address New Structures, a new way, therefore, to address our problems, what can be more basic than to talk about how we live, and to think about and contribute our ideas about communal living as an opener to that very basic conversation?

placeholder.

No.

Just, no.

No. Not now, not tomorrow, not ever. We will never surrender. Not EVER. We will fight on the land, we will fight on the sea, we will fight inside your minds, we will fight inside your souls, we well fight on the beaches we will fight on the lands we will fight in space, we will fight EVERYWHERE .. we will fight no matter what you do, and no matter who you adopt. We will NEVER STOP.

We will fight you in your homes. We will fight you over your families. We will fight you over your lands. We will fight you over your airs. We will fight you over your elitism. We will fight you over the cost of your lives. We will fight you over the cost of our lives. We will fight until we cannot fight anymore.

We will FIGHT.

You have tried to convert us and ours to the way of heterosexuality.  This is unacceptable.

This is, to us, a Gay Nation.

We have, as you and yours have said, a New Structure.

The first step in any such new structure is, we will fight.

We MUST fight.

We cannot give, to you, and to yours, the luxury of a hundred years of incrementalism.

If we do, that will mean a million people kicked out of the military.

If we let you and yours speak on our behalf, that will mean a million gay people convinced that without heterosexuality, they are irretrievably damaged and worthy of DEATH.

If we let you and yours speak on our behalf, that will mean that you will continue to believe that I and ours are estranged, that we are not of you and the human species, and that you will continue to be able to believe that only a special class of human is ever able to enact on your behalf.

But, in any event, we are not worthy of DEATH.

We are not worthy of being unregarded by you worthies for our lives and our sustenance.

So, if necessary, we will fight you.

And, if necessary, we will break you.

It is a self destructive aphorism that gay people are merciful.  It is a convenient delusion that gay people are going to grant you sufferage.

No.

We will break you.  If must and needs be.

So, we will push you and push you and push you, until you break.  How important is global warming to you against gay people’s civil rights?  How important is jobs?

Until we have our civil rights, we will punish you.  We are not done.  We will hound you mercilessly.  We will take your every excuse, your every attempt to divide and conquer, and turn it against you.

We will not stop until we are equal.  Get used to it.  And think.  For god’s sake, think.

New Structures

.

Are emerging.

Structures fostered by the internet, based on People connecting with People, bypassing the old structures. Structures based on a new Planet-centric “morality” of human consciousness….that crosses all “religious,” dogmatic and ideological boundaries and structures. Intended to unite, not divide, the human race.

A new morality, based on saving the Planet. Saving the Planet for all humanity….not one tribe or nation or country.

(Note: Until this new form of focused human consciousness develops it’s own new lexicon, it will be necessary to to use “religious” terms and phrasing. I urge us all to look beyond any prejudices we may (understandably) have regarding this “old” form of expression and focus on the consciousness behind the language)

A Great Urgency: To All World Religious and Spiritual Leaders,? by

Chief Arvol Looking Horse

May 14, 2010

My Relatives,

Time has come to speak to the hearts of our Nations and their Leaders.

I ask you this from the bottom of my heart, to come together from the

Spirit of your Nations in prayer.

We, from the heart of Turtle Island, have a great message for the

World; we are guided to speak from all the White Animals showing their

sacred color, which have been signs for us to pray for the sacred life

of all things.

As I am sending this message to you, many Animal Nations are being

threatened, those that swim, those that crawl, those that fly, and the

plant Nations, eventually all will be affect from the oil disaster in

the Gulf.

The dangers we are faced with at this time are not of spirit. The

catastrophe that has happened with the oil spill which looks like the

bleeding of Grandmother Earth, is made by human mistakes, mistakes

that we cannot afford to continue to make.

Chaos, Change, Tragedy ……….and Politics

Humans only change through crisis and tragedy.

And boy do humans need to change.

It is inconceivable but true that the current tragedy, as immense as it is, is NOT changing the politics of Climate and Energy. The only change it has really wrought politically is to answer the question: What will it take. Unfortunately the answer is…..nothing. Nothing, no event, no force, no reality can change the artificial world of politics in a crumbling empire. In a crumbling paradigm, in what is perhaps a crumbling civilization. At the very least, the model of civilization as we have known it is crumbling, as that model proves inadequate to deal with the change that is occurring.

A change which cannot be stopped by men because it is not of man. It is of the world, of the planet, of the universe.
