It is hot and I am lazy beyond belief. I took these pictures one morning while walking the dog in one of the upscale older neighborhoods in Memphis.

Oh. And somebody tell Rusty I was all set to hop on a plane and visit him until I did further investigation of the weather this week in ND and found out it is almost as hot and humid as in my part of the world. It is/was 86 in Bismarck.

American tightrope walker Karl Wallenda risked his life for charity on a highwire over a circus tent in London on in 1974. In blustering winds and drizzling rain, Wallenda walked along 300 feet (about 95 metres) of wire suspended 70 feet (about 22 metres) above one of Europe’s largest big tops, that of Mary Chipperfield’s circus.

Wallenda is from one of the world’s most famous circus families and lost two members of his immediate family through high-wire accidents.

Vacating

Peter, Paul and Mary…and John Denver:  Leaving on a Jet Plane

I managed to sneak away a bit during my recent visit home to take a few pictures at some local gardens in the city where my grandmother lives. What I particularly like is that behind the gardens are some hiking trails near some wetlands….

Usually by the time I discover an artist they have already been hot and are now considered “so yesterday”, I hope that is not the case with Walton Ford. What can I say I am not hip or cutting edge.

Somebody with more artistic training that I would be able to explain in detail the way he takes a particular style that is subversive without mocking the actual genre.
