Warning!

The video below contains explicit scenes of bad bar mitzvah dancing, political lyrics written by a failed auditioner for “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?”, and a song that has been known to cause dementia in laboratory mice.

Side effects include: sickness, nausea, vomiting, migraines, irritable bowels, snorting, guffawing, cringing, earaches, and a strong urge to shoot yourself in the head to get the tune out.

Arrangement by Lawrence Welk.

This video has not been endorsed by Kenny G, who told us it wasn’t hip enough.

Viewers please note:

No minorities were harmed in the making of this video except for the ones we needed to sing the song.

Cops vs. Skaters in Baltimore: Video leads to suspension! w/poll

On primary day in Maryland, here’s some interesting news coming out of Baltimore, with some interesting video.

Ignorance and Education in America

Originally posted on ePluribus Media as Education For The Common Good: We’re All Out Of Our Minds.

People in the United States of America have been “asleep at the wheel” while their airwaves, traditional media, education and political discourse have been perpetually “dumbed down” to the point where the average citizen is often unaware and indifferent of major people, places and events of the world and from history.

If you don’t think education matters, and that news like the latest pop-glam scandal are more important than knowing what goes into our food, our environment, our foreign and domestic policies and what’s happening around the world, then you’ll probably fail to grasp the significance of the following video:

Shut Your Eyes – Love is the Only Way

This is just my second video and I’m having to work around the fact that I don’t know what I’m doing…which can be an obstacle, so the following is rough and a bit long but I hope you’ll find it interesting enough to watch.  And thank you very much if you do.

A Grudging Tip of the Hat to My Foe

Admit it: You’ve done it before.

No, not that; that’s gross.  What I meant was, every once in while, you creep over to the wing of the house that you’ve been told not to got to, the one about which the rumors swirl dark and evil.  In the dead of night, perhaps, or for a few minutes from the anonymity of a work computer, you click over to Free Republic or Little Green Footballs or Michelle Malkin (sorry no links; I seem to have momentarily forgotten how to do that), and you marvel at the vapidity.  Bereft of ideas and unencumbered by conscience, these last defenders of the indefensible are a case study in the death of a political movement, and in their final throes (heh) they’re apt to say the darndest things.

But every once in a while, a post like this one (danger: RedState) can actually do some good, either by helping a progressive see things in a different light or by exposing the vitriol that is the sole foundation of the “philosophy” of some wingnuts.  The one linked above, entitled Freakin’ Awesome Obama Music Video did both for this moonbat, and I just gotta tip my hat to author Ericka Andersen.

Partisan Bomb Thrower Wexler Raises Inconvenient Facts!

Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.) took the floor in the House of Representatives last night to call for the House Judiciary Committee to begin impeachment hearings against Vice President Dick Cheney…..to applause from the gallery.

From The Politico

At the Republican National Committee, press secretary Alex Conant dismissed Wexler’s impeachment call as a “publicity stunt.”

“Wexler is a partisan bomb-thrower hoping to earn points with the far Left,” Conant said. “His absurd calls for impeachment hearings are little more than a vain attempt to make himself relevant.”

Jamiroquai Morning Dance Club

Jamiroquai took the feel good seventies funk vibe and ran with it.  Last June they set up their own web site: http://www.jamiroquai.com/ with lots of funky stuff to check out.  On the top right they have some new songs to listen to.

I saw the Live in Montreaux concert on TV and was blown away.  Jay’s voice is very easy to listen to with incredible range and subtlety.  He’s fun to watch and makes you want to get up and dance too. It looks like they are just wrapping up a Japanese Tour.

Play (press play on the media box) or download Space Cowboy for free from Archive.org

Check out all the related links, clubs and fun things to do at Jam Party People.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, I tried writing something about the above video but I am sure you’ll all understand what I was trying to write just by watching.  Something about Doing it Ourselves and the joy that that brings. And the attraction of the studio where the artist can be left alone to invent and discover then release items for public consumption when the time is right and not a moment sooner.  Add on to that the inclusion of the mystic and absurd so that we steer clear of idle sincerity.  Intermingled with a desire to yell, scream and cry all in tune and without dropping a beat. No this isn’t important but it is, like your last exam before summer vacation.  Would you prefer a more refined video with fire and ladies dancing?  Be honest.  Would you prefer to see filled glasses of alcohol and some severe rump shakin’?  Or is the experience of creating something new what a music video could and should be about?

New Years Resolution For 08: IMPEACH!

Rose Parade 08 in Pasadena

had a dose of reality this year with the help of the White Rose Coalition and LANIC (Los Angeles National Impeachment Center) protesting to call for the impeachment of Cheney and Bush.

NEED ONE SAY MORE!!

Peace: For What it’s Worth

Ok. OPOL inspired me to give it a try so I  gathered some of my personal photos from years of covering peace protests along with some music I recorded on a bus trip to a DC protest and made a video of it.  I had planned to make my debut on the Garden Blog on big orange with something about plants, but it’s happening here first.

I think some of the images rotate too quickly, and, for mine, there is no motion. If I had to do it over again,  I would add a zoom to the woman in the orange jump suit [DONE] because her sign is hard to read on Youtube — the resolution is poor.

Warning: There is some nudity and profanity in my video.

This is me just foolin’ around. (Updated)

I’ve acquired some new tools and I am struggling to come up to speed with them.  I’ve only begun the learning process but here’s the first video project I’ve been able to complete.  It has issues so please forgive its shortcomings.  Bigger and better things are coming (I hope).  Any pointers from the pros are most welcome.

Update:  I smoothed out some of the transitions.  Thanks for the feedback.

Thoughts on the Site

First, for me anything Buhdy does is great so take these comments as they are meant – with a grain of salt. As some reading may know my professional background is creating media so I may be a bit more critical and I hope ‘THE CREATOR’ not take it personally. Here goes:

Mission: What is the intended goal of DOCUDHARMA
The name is GREAT. To me it implies “documenting life in its many aspects”. That’s a guess. I think it need a TAGLINE

The Design: My guess is the circles at the top represent different catagories. Yes? What are they? I think this aspect needs some real hard thinking as it will define the culture of this site. I have some ideas if you want them.

Use of Video: With a name like this it is a must have. Here is my bio I can’t seem to publish

I’m known at DKOS as NOTIMPORTANT. I chose that name 5 years ago because in my career I was a “behind the scenes” person – and effective as well. 1.5 years ago I was in a near fatal car crash. I am ok, but it caused an early retirement, which is also ok. Recently I decided it was time for a new name that reflects how happy I am to be alive and thriving. Lastly, my professional expertise was in creating “branded content”. In the 80’s it was cable channels. In the 90’s it was Internet Portals and content. Now I am working on my own project which I hope to bring to this site and other – the ability to diary and comment encorporating user generated video. That will have the effect of blogs such as Docudharma less reliant on the shifting sands of corporately owned entities like YouTube. Really lastly, my ultimate goal is to work with people like Budhy to put some of this content on the digital tiers of cable systems.

So you see I am already working on this and would like community input on new ways of incorporating video.

lASTLY. and this is for everyone here, Buhdy already knows this. I think Buhdy rocks and this site could be a “changling” for the blogging world. And yes, I think the small group here is up for it. When I say changling I am talking about being the first blog to create a new dynamic in blogging that it changes all that comes after it.

To me, this site should document in words, in pictures, in music and sound and video all that is communicated by its users. Its a tall order but this is afterall, what Buhdya started isn’t it?
