Census Kid Cometh

The census kid came today.  He seemed nervous.  Wonder if people were giving him shit all day.  He was just a 20 something and I wonder what he thought of me, a guy old enough to be his father.

I don’t answer race questions anymore.

Just like that with solid conviction.

I was kind of surprised he didn’t press for answers to the other questions.

A perfect storm for unemployment in June

While there is plenty of talk about the economic recovery, there is barely a whisper about what is just a few weeks ahead. It’s not any one thing. It’s a combination of three (and possibly four) different events that will deliver devastating body-blows to the economy.

They are all being talked about, but no one that I’ve seen has put them all together.

That’s where I come in, the doom-and-gloomer, with the news that no one wants to think about, but you are better off knowing now rather than later.

Man fired shotgun when Census worker visited his home. Way to go CNN and Erick Erickson, you idiots

Was it his wife’s shotgun?

ST. MARIES, Idaho (AP) – A northern Idaho man who police say fired his shotgun near a U.S. census worker who was trying to deliver a census form has been cited for exhibition of a deadly weapon, a misdemeanor.

Fifty-4-year-old Richard L. Powell of St. Maries faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

The Benewah County Prosecutor’s office says that on March 3 Powell told the census worker to get off his property and then fired a shotgun into the air.

Although this happened before Erickson told his listeners on RedState radio that he would pull his wife’s shotgun on any census worker who set foot on his property, it shows how some people are already on the verge of violence and need no egging on.

So it is official, Erick son of Erick is the new Lou Dobbs/Glenn Beck of CNN.

Census

On the census, this is another of great wonder as to the mentality and intelligence of the opposer’s to. Not only especially their reps who should know better, hey they work in congress or in the capital, but to their ‘tea party baggers’, if you fill out and send it costs Us the taxpayers only the postage, the rest of the costs are already known and budgeted from that point. But if you refuse to fill it out and mail it it averages to a $60 cost for each house that needs to be visited, some numerous times!!! Oh and as to illegals, those who do give information aren’t known as so they add to the count that helps the communities!!

America’s War on Minorities

In 1980, an African-American was equally likely to be either living in a college dorm or living in prison.  Not anymore.  In the last twenty-six years, we have made remarkable progress.

Today, the Census Bureau will release a study showing that American blacks are more than three times as likely to live in prison than in a college dorm.

And the study has more good news as well.  Hispanic Americans in 1980 were more likely to live in college dorms than in prison.  Now, there are 2.7 Hispanics in prison for every Hispanic in a college dorm.
