ExGitmo Detainee in Bermuda Speaks on CNN

Here’s something for anyone who’s in a pissy mood with no one to piss at. Or on. Grrr.

I saw this late last night, I had CNN on my teevee, looking for News on the Iran situation. So this comes on.

CNN’s Don Lemon gets fmr. Security Advisor Townsend’s reaction to two freed gitmo detainees who claim they were innocent.

Townsend was a real piece of work.

It wasn’t all that easy to find. Click to watch -> “Ex-Gitmo Detainees Speak” over there.

Their Just Deserts

(Crossposted at The Daily Kos)

hey spent their years content to keep key constituents dumb.

It is their nightmare right now because of that.

They spent their years lying their gums off just so they could easily become part of the corrupt elite.

It is their nightmare right now because of that.

They spent all their time selling out their race for their own personal game, facilitating in the spread of agendas that have placed the country in the mess we’re in while they live lavishly away in their dishonesty.

It is their nightmare right now because of that

And now, Alex Castellanos, Leslie Sanchez, Danny Diaz, and all those Hispanic TV strategists that have helped carry the Sad Obnoxious Party’s water are getting what they deserve right now.

Tortured

Via Big Tent Democrat, we get this, from CNN (emphasis mine):

Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday that he would “follow the law” as he weighed potential prosecutions of Bush administration officials who authorized controversial harsh interrogation techniques.

Big Tent points out that President Obama has already contradicted this, by stating that CIA interrogators won’t be investigated. But I’d also like to remind CNN that even John McCain understands the difference between “harsh interrogation techniques” and torture. So, why doesn’t CNN?

Fox News Is No Longer The Number One Cable News Network

Continuing a long pattern of decline, Fox News once again underperforms its competitors. The first quarter of a presidential election year can generally be expected to boost viewership for news networks. For CNN and MSNBC this has been markedly apparent. For Fox News…not so much.

Breaking: WTF Does This Mean??

I just got a CNN email that says precisely the following:

— The State Department says security on Barack Obama’s passport file has been breached, campaign officials tell CNN.

And it’s up on the main page of CNN too.

I have to go somewhere, and I’ll be back in couple of hours.  My question: WTF does this mean?

It’s Time for US to Clamp Down On The Media

I watched Obama give one of the greatest speeches I have ever heard today. In a week from Hell. When we barely escaped the collapse of Wall Street while still not addressing the needs of Main Street. I watched a man stand tall and draw a line in the sand with diplomatic skills unseen in American politics in my lifetime. I watched a man stand by a friend, while making it absolutely clear that even though ‘context is everything’ some of Wright’s statements were completely unacceptable. I watched a man I want to be my President.

As a DJ, CNN Sucks: A Disco Disaster

I posted this at  DK but thought I’d expand on it here.

[new] Disco Disaster (14+ / 0-)

The cut from Obama to McFear reminded me of when I was a club DJ years ago.  Sometimes the floor would be alive, people movin’, groovin’ on the good foot and then I’d screw up (not often but..) and cue the wrong record.  BAM, you could feel the funk leave the room.

CNN  sucks as a DJ.

Sub-Prime(Time) Meltdown Hits Fox News Where It Hurts

Over the past year there has been a broad array of economic and political indicators that have been trending generally downward. In the U.S. jobs having been declining, as have exports. Construction has pulled back and property values have fallen. Wages are not keeping pace with inflation. At the same time, approval ratings for President Bush have cratered and Republican Party registration is down. GOP primary voters are showing up at the polls in significantly lower numbers than Democratic voters.

Not surprisingly, this social climate crisis is also being reflected in the market performance of the Fox News Channel. For 2007, Fox News squeezed out a meager ratings increase of 4%. While that was enough to beat the somnambulent CNN’s 2% gain, it was far short of the surging 32% rise enjoyed by MSNBC.

Fujita Yukihisa

Japan is having discussions on increasing their military and financial aide to the US in the “global war on terror”.

From another location comes this.

On January 11th 2008, Fujita Yukihisa made a 30 minute presentation at the House of Councillors (equivalent to the U.S. Senate). He directly questioned the official version of 9/11 in a session with Japanese Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuo and members of his Cabinet.

Fujita is a member of the opposition party, Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ). He was elected to the House of Councillors in 2007. He is a former Member of the House of Representative and Former Vice Director General of the International Department of the Democratic Party of Japan.

Fujita emphasized that there was never an official police investigation into the deaths of the 24 Japanese citizens who were killed on 9/11.

He stated that many in the US doubt the official version of 9/11 and numerous individuals have collected evidence that contradicts the government’s version, which can be seen on many websites.

During his speech, an aide showed several larges photos of:

– the Pentagon entry and exit hole and a scale overlay of a 757

– the flight path towards the Pentagon

– the WTC Twin Towers exploding

– the WTC 7 collapse

– the early announcment of the collapse of WTC 7 by the BBC and CBS

He demanded further investigation of 9/11.

REM: “Until the Day is Done” debuts. I cry.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
This song, Until the Day is Done, and video left us with tears in our oatmeal this morning. REM fans will understand that the emotions brought to the surface by this amazing group are sincerely felt themselves. Michael Stipe is interviewed right after the video and it’s worth listening especially for his media savvy commentary. I hope CNN breaks viewership records with what looks like a ground-breaking series.

Watch. Listen. Feel. Act.
