Do The Math #3

#1 HERE

#2 HERE

Ok, today’s Math may need a little brain power.

As in “PULL YOUR REPTILIAN & LIMBIC BRAINS OUT OF YOUR ASS, AND USE YOUR CEREBRAL CORTEX.”

* There are actual numbers to back me up on this, but you know, in the interest of keeping it simple, and the fact that I, as a middle aged housewife with no education typing away with my first cup of coffee, have no interest in googling numbers AT ALL, am going to suggest if you don’t get the overall premise, Google may or may not be able to help you anyway. So have at it. I have run-on sentences to write.

Fear reflex is a good thing. It makes you duck when your kid hits a good hard fastball right back at your head when you pitch to him, and you only catch it peripherally too late because you are looking at your flowerbed over his shoulder thinking you should be weeding.

That’s what the lower function in your brains are for. They are NOT meant to be your primary data functioning unit.

So, using your cerebral cortex, the best reaction in such a case would be to realize you are becoming as ADD as the rest of America, choose to focus on your kid and the game, rationalize that your child is only young once, think, “FUCK THOSE WEEDS” and PLAY WITH HIM.

Were you to process this, keeping that REPTILIAN BRAIN to the forefront, you would instead think baseball evil, and your child under suspicion of trying to kill you. You would tell your husband for your own safety to ground him to his room forever, and watch his every word and move. Then you would start being suspicious of every one of those Motherfucking OUT TO GET you little bastards in America wearing baseball hats.

Lets Do The Math on THE WAR ON TERROR, shall we?

Just because you’re paranoid… (a.k.a. I want my Posse Comitatus)

Ever heard of the Posse Comitatus Act?  From the wiki on it:

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. ยง 1385) passed on June 16, 1878 after the end of Reconstruction. The Act prohibits most members of the federal uniformed services (the Army, Air Force, and State National Guard forces when such are called into federal service) from exercising nominally state law enforcement police or peace officer powers that maintain “law and order” on non-federal property (states, their counties and municipal divisions) in the former Confederate states.

The statute generally prohibits federal military personnel and units of the United States National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States.

So, anyone want to share why the U.S. Army Times is reporting the following?

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys.

Now they’re training for the same mission – with a twist – at home.

Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

Okay, so it may be a coincidence, the U.S. Army training at home for operations at home (I believe for the first time), starting ONE MONTH BEFORE THE ELECTION.

But what about Posse Comitatus?

Is it expected to be suspended in October?  Do they know something we don’t?

Or is just a coincidence?

Just because you’re paranoid…

Fiendish Feds Filched my Follicles

I flew United, Milwaukee>Ohare>Austin for the Netroots Nation bloggers convention last week.

Landing, 2 bags out of 66 passengers were not on the carousel, mine and agnostic’s, another raucous Dailykos poster. We were told they’d been mistakenly sent to Scranton, would be delivered to out hotel around midnight. Actually arrived 4:00 the next afternoon, with 2 pieces of tape, one from TSA, and another from Homeland Security. Missing, my hairbrush, and Ms. Agnostic’s scarf.

As I connect the dots, when our dossiers were run, an alert HSA drone noticed empty datafields for our DNA. No longer empty.

Buckle up . . . .

Here we go again!  Only this time it’s not anthrax, it’s ricin!

Ricin has been found in a motel room in Las Vegas.

Feb. 29 (Bloomberg) — Seven people were hospitalized, one of them in a coma, after a substance believed to be the deadly toxin ricin was discovered yesterday in a Las Vegas hotel room. . . .

The FBI, which is cooperating with the inquiry, said there is no reason to suspect terrorism. Ricin is made from castor beans and has no antidote. Alternative uses include experimental cancer treatments. . . .

Federal officials have warned police departments to look out for ricin, which could be deadly in the hands of terrorists. It may be used to contaminate air-conditioning systems, drinking water or lakes, the FBI has said. . . .

Traces of ricin were also found five years ago in a London apartment during a British-based counterterrorism raid.

But not to worry!  Bush has already taken action!!!!!!

President Bush and Homeland Security Director Michael Chertoff speak in regards to emerging Las Vegas ricin incident.

Washington, DC (Rotters) – President Bush, appearing with Homeland security Director Michael Chertoff early this morning at a White House press conference, officially elevated the national terror alert system to the color code Orange, representing a high probability for terrorist activities. The elevation came in response to the presumed discovery of the highly toxic chemical ricin at a Las Vegas motel late yesterday.

“Perhaps this might turn out to be a case of premature ejac… er… exaggeration,” stated President Bush in regards to the terror alert,” but we have been simply left with no alternative. I take my duties to protect America very seriously. It is possible that the substance in question might turn out not to be ricin, but without warrantless wiretapping thanks to the Democrat controlled Congress’ inability to pass a bipartisan measure, it may be too late to spread panic before we know for sure.”

Homeland security Director Michael Chertoff seconded the president’s concern. “The reality is that we are ramping up for more of these terror warning elevations, both justified and false alarms, because the truth of the matter is we just don’t know.”

Chertoff went on to say that Homeland security had swung into high gear, and would be investigating nationwide every level of America’s castor bean production, and was considering a national recall of castor oil. Tests later today would likely clarify the identity of the compound and possibly its origins, but Chertoff stated that this would come too late to amplify the necessary initial sense of panic needed.

“I think it’s very ironic that this incident surfaced in Nevada,” concluded Bush. “I hope it will send a message to Senator Reid and other like-minded individuals in Congress that the telephone companies must have immunity so that we’re able to know everything that’s going on in this country ahead of time.”

Satire very close to “home.”

[See the website for the real picture shown — it is priceless.]

Look, up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no, it’s Big Brother

Ain’t technology grand? I can sit here in China and zoom in on my son’s backyard in America with Google Earth.

Perhaps someday I will be able to watch my grandkids play in realtime.

The technology is here…now.  Our government uses it for National Security.  There is no doubt that it can (and probably has) serve our military well in Iraq and Afghanistan, our Intelligence community in many foreign lands and our scientists in tracking environmental information around the globe.

But what if someone wants to watch my grandkids running through the sprinkler in their underoos.

or…

Watch you as you read this post?

Family Traditions

I love being in the woods, always have.  There is something peaceful and natural breathing the fresh pine scented air of a wooded area.  My family has been content with simple things in life, one of those being walking around the local wooded area around our suburban water supply to collect pine cones for Christmas wreathes.  In this post 911 world though one year we were kicked out.
It was, we were told, a matter of “National Security”, by some idiot employee of (actually I have no friggin idea and he did not identify himself).  We were just “not allowed” to be there.  Somehow this strikes me as odd.

As a resident of the community and recipient of the water therein contained in said water supply, did they not think said resident, and drinker of said water, would not report to appropriate authorities the pollution of previously stated water supply by turban wearing swarthy looking middle-eastern bearded men?
I then started my blogging over at Hannity.com with this incident.  I was dutifully told over there that collecting pine cones was not a specifically guaranteed Consitutional right.  I then related the incident of getting forever banned in under 48 hours from Hannity.com to dailykos.

Now though I have a one year old grandson who delightfully extends his arms everytime he sees me.  I showed him my wonder of the woods on a magical 4 wheeler ride this summer when we went to our vacation/potential survialist spot camping trip.  He now looks at me and says Vroom, Vroom as he asks me for a little fun, a little enjoyment in life.  He seeks the bonding with another human who knows how to love him and unconditionally does.  He finds it refreshing and different from his parents who are caught up mostly in the Satan inspired propaganda ministry know collectively as “American media” and also the collective soap opera foisted upon the twenty somethings of the current cannon fodder generation.

I want to show him the simpler joys in life, like collecting pine cones for Christmas wreathes but in teaching him that I have to show him also the Satanic side of humanity I’ve come to see all too clearly.
The “post 911 world”, the fallacy of a global war on “terra”.  In time I’ll have to explain why we could not go to the “old” location where there are lots of pine cones instead of this new place where the pine trees are much smaller.

His parents are basically tradesman types so I get to explain to him what Machiavellian really means.  That duty and responsibility allows me to get up in the morning even when I see the entire world as totally insane.  Should I also attempt to assess his capacity and willingness to accept truth or should I leave it up to the Matrix and let him decide for himself to fight Agent Smith or take the blue pill and lead the usual pod person life.

I happen to think he’s got the spirit, if he can pick me out of a crowd and can hold on to a wonderful memory two months ago as a one year old, he has my support.  Once I pick him up, it’s just about impossible to put him down.
