Yes, my friends, these gentlemen are the Real Deal offering a vision of our future that can only be described as Common Sense! Sense for the 99% by eliminating the lockgrip the 1% has on our lives; sense in safeguards for our destinies, and sense in creating a sustainable, green infrastructure.

As a devout leftist, I sometimes wonder… since when is sense a spectral thing? Left?  Right?  No, SANE! The D/R symposium has forced us to play Predatory Capitalism Russian Roulette; Socialism is the whisper of Sanity saying, “Put the gun down.”

It is far past time to quit accepting the temporary reprieves that stay our execution, while society lingers on death row.  It is time to break out of our own imprisonment.

Tonight, Eric Knight – British citizen and regular of the Links for the Wildy Left facebook page affiliated with this show and blog –  joins me as honorary co-host to address Occupy, Class War, the Police State and the Idiocy of our mutual “exceptionalism” in foreign affairs.

Eric is a scathing wit, brilliant man and all around great conversation.  He has worked in publishing and marketing, been active in the Human Rights and Justice Campaign, is a drummer who has run with the rockers, hobnobbed with the Princess of Wales and Maggie Thatcher, and supports the reintroduction of the guillotine for both of our War Criminals. He is on his way to Pakistan as an NGO diplomat working in an advisory position on education, and to promote diplomacy between their two countries, a trip for which he has agreed to be our foreign correspondent.

It will be refreshing to see our own Kabuki from a very sympathetic to the “people” man, who shares our absolute disgust with the events occurring around us.

When the controversy broke about then Senator Obama having known Bill Ayers, my first thought was “cool, maybe his is one of us.  Since then, it is Obama that has disappointed, not Professor Ayers.

My discussion with him will strive to contemplate, contrast and compare the social movement of the 60’s and 70’s with what is happening now. I think he can, as someone who has been fully immersed in the former shed light on the latter.

Great effort has been taken to marginalize, even demonize and true socialist with any chance of influencing the dialogue in this country. While active in the advancement of progressive education, that that alone is considered too “radical” for the “educational industry” speaks volumes about how far right we have been pushed as a Nation.

Today, this nation is under a far more militant resistance against OWS activists than the anti-war activists of the SDS and WU were… I wonder, how will it survive?

I am thrilled an honored to be able to have a conversation with Bill! I am sure we shall all learn much from him.

Bill Ayers is an American elementary education theorist and a former leader in the movement that opposed U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. He is known for his 1960s activism as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969 he co-founded the Weather Underground. He is a retired professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, formerly holding the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar

Tonight, I again have the pleasure of interviewing one of my most treasured mentors, Ward Churchill.

In the 6 months since we last spoke, things have changed dramatically – Chickens are coming home to roost here in the form of OWS, and the tactics being used to stop this Democratic Movement are escalating. The transitions of power in the Arab Spring countries are complex, and the Elites are struggling to hold their control.

I, for one, cannot wait to hear Ward’s take on these new circumstances in which America finds herself.

Ward Churchill is a Professor of Ethnic Studies and Communications from the University of Colorado, an activist and the author of more than 14 acclaimed books, and hundreds of essays. He is an expert on American Indian History.

He is charming to interview, brilliant and with a quick sense of humor. I am THRILLED to engage him again!!!

The massive plundering of the U.S. Treasury and all its resources has been almost on a scale that is criminally insane, and has literally destroyed the lives of millions of American people and American families. Exactly. You and me, sport – we are the ones who are going to suffer, and suffer massively. This is going to be just like the Book of Revelation said it was going to be – the end of the world as we knew it.

I guess what remains is what we do about it.

Its been a week of crime and terrorist activity.

All of which have been by our State against us, from the Teflon Messiah to the Pigs on the street.

Strap on your gas-masks folks; there is a huge history of violence against and they are adding chapters as we speak.

AWS? What is that, you ask?

Assassinate World Streets.

I’m almost kidding. They have no problem carpet bombing civilians with drones, or assassinating World Leaders, or sicking the Police on unarmed civilians.

Bin Laden, Gahdaffi, American Citizens abroad, they kill them.

Peaceful protestors trying to get a Real Democracy reinstated, they brutalize them.

I think they are missing the one Real Demand worldwide. We want to rule ourselves, thank you very much, and we aren’t asking anymore.

Occupy Wall Street is again our topic tonight, as I assume it will be for a very long time as long as the Independent Journalists are still able to report freely.

Two very important questions remain.

The first is about how it will fail – for the odds are stacked very highly against the Populace saving themselves from a deeply entrenched and now global Oligarchy. Will it be through violence, being co-opted, being handed austerity and thrown a few bones? Or will they create violence and blame the resistance in order to turn the population against the Occupation, rewarding little Orwellian finger-pointers?

The second is about how it will succeed – for against all odds, we are the many and we could easily regain power if the will to do so is true. Is highly regulated capitalism what we must settle for, perhaps isolationist America-first selfishness, or will we truly break free into sane socialism?

These are the days we have been waiting for my friends. It has begun.

Tonight I have the honor of interviewing Bruce A. Dixon co-founder of the wonderful (and wildly left) Black Agenda Report. His bio there:

“Managing Editor Bruce Dixon: Longtime Activist, Habitual Troublemaker

A habitual troublemaker and incorrigible activist, Bruce Dixon has been comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable since 1968.

As a rank and file member of the Black Panther Party in 1969-1970, a 1970s rank-and-file union activist in a string of factories, plants and workplaces, a 1980s community organizer in what were then some of the nation’s poorest neighborhoods, to organizing and consulting through the 1990s Dixon has built an impressive record of service in and to the cause of human liberation.

In 2002 he began writing articles for Black Commentator, the predecessor of this publication, and broke the first accurate analyses of the phenomena around the election of Denise Majette over Cynthia McKinney in Georgia that year.  

As managing editor at BAR Dixon is chiefly responsible for maintaining this web site.  He currently resides in metro Atlanta.

Bruce graciously allowed me to reprint his latest essay questioning the LOTE, lesser of the two evils with Barack Obama as perhaps the more effective evil. “Barack Obama VS Those Craaaazy Republicans: Is He the Lesser Evil, or the More Effective Evil?”  I adored it. He is brilliant, outspoken, and a troublemaker like me. This should be an awesome show!
